A little known gem from the Fifties called "Goodbye To My Lady".

If you ever see it on a TV schedule, dvd catalogue, or in a dvd store, JUMP ON IT!

Its both good, and hard to find.
But also be sure to have a box or two of kleenexes at your side.

A lonely young boy growing up in bayou country without parents, and being raised by his granddad played by Walter Brennan, finds a strange looking dog in the coastal marshes. They bond, hunt together, etc.

Some time later news reaches thier small town that the dog is a rare expensive ancient breed ( a besenji-this film was made fifty years before basenji dogs were cool) owned by a rich family passing through. So the boy is faced with a moral choice: return the dog to its rightful owner, or keep his canine campanion.

I'm sorry... I need to find some kleenexes right now...

I cried loads at 'ET' when I was a kid, but I've tended to avoid sappy movies in my adult life. The only movie I can actually remember moving me to tears is 'It's a Wonderful Life'.

My Girl (when Thomas J dies and the reaction of the others, especially at his funeral)
Hocus Pocus (when Binx the cat dies at the end)
Carrie (because I could relate to her so much in some ways)
Toy Story 3 (when Andy gives away his toys to the little girl in his neighbourhood)
Marley and Me (when the dog dies)
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (when Bruno gets sucked into the gas chamber by mistake and his mother finds out and is devastated. Also I cry a little throughout the whole film when I see the Jews and how badly treated they were).

I can't remember specifically the last movie I cried at but it's likely that I would cry at most climatic crescendos.

The last time I cried at the television was when I was watching the Tour De France.
