Don't listen to the critics or the hateful Alt Right neck beards. This was a great movie. Provides a satisfying explanation to who Rey's family really was, and which identity she chooses at the end. Also is explained who the puppet master behind Snoke and the First Order really is.

Saw it as well! great movie....lots of disparaging remarks uncalled for....also picked up on the alt-right dislike of the similarities of the emperor/dark side/stormtroopers looking decidely Nazi..like the tikki torch brigade in Charlottesville

"Punishment Park"

1971 pseudo documentary by Peter Watkins set in a near future whereby President Nixon has declared Martial Law. Film follows two simultaneous events.

1. Dissidents have been sentenced to be hunted by law enforcement through the desert if they reach an American flag they go free otherwise they are sent to prison.

2. A civilian/military tribunal of dissidents.

Rise of Skywalker - Far from a perfect movie, but I quite liked it. I would go so far as to say it was the best of these three movies but I could see an argument for Force Awakens being the best of the three. To me, after the original Star Wars trilogy, the best Star Wars movie is Rogue One.

Harriet - Pretty good movie about Harriet Tubman - it gets a little bit Hollywood-cliche in a few parts, but highlights what an absolute bad-ass amazing woman she was which I think gets lost in history a bit.

Ford v Ferrari - Somehow I was expecting this movie to show both sides of the matchup a bit more, but its almost 100% focused on Ford. Still Christian Bale is quite good in it and overall the story is really interesting.

Last Christmas - hard to say anything good about this movie. Three fairly big stars (Emilia Clark of GoT, and Michelle Yeoh and Henry Golding from Crazy Ruch Asians) make it promising, and there's nothing about it that isn't done well enough - except, that is, the screenplay which just lets it down, IMHO.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil - Overall a good movie but the first Maleficent was a much better film. Still worth seeing if you liked the first.

The Current War: Interesting stuff, about Thomas Edison vs. George Westinghouse and the race to electrify and illuminate America, with Nikola Tesla thrown in for good measure. But in the end fails to ever really take off.

Bigfoot: Holler Creek Canyon.

I just can't seem to stop watching terrible Bigfoot movies, probably because they are so bad. But at least the recognizable actor in the credits is Ron Jeremy (yes, THAT Ron Jeremy).

I concur. BTW, what is your opinion about a rumored sequel to this film?

Deadgirl.

First rate zombie movie. A couple high school outcasts skip class to vandalize an abandoned psychiatric hospital, when in the basement they discover a bound naked woman who is obviously not alive, but neither is she dead. The two react very differently to their discovery, with one using her to realize his sexual fantasies (even bringing in another boy to use her), while the other resists but can't bring himself to stop this. But there is a very good reason why she's bound. What happens to a jock a$$hole is epic!

The newest version of Little Women. Really liked it, a good telling of the story. Chalamet looking especially handsome didn't hurt.
