I saw The Irishman while recuperating from hernia surgery. Not sure if I would have seen it otherwise.

Didn't break any new ground as a mobster movie, but I appreciated the strong tie-in with history.

Brightburn - Was much better than I thought. Since the lead was a kid, I thought it'd be some weak PG or PG-13 fluff. It wasn't. It was an R flick with a strong and intense violent streak with a good story - just the way I like it.

I just saw that last night, as that was my Valentine's Day present to my wife. Great movie.

It opened well, but the middle fell flat. I felt the story became less engaging as it went along.

I wanted to like its entertaining factor, but the muddled delivery and pacing of the story stopped me from doing this.

There was great acting chemistry between M and H, but (it could be the nostalgia talking), it made me want to watch the first Men In Black film again.

Though saying that, I wasn't too keen on the 2nd or 3rd film in the franchise either.

I watched the new Sonic The Hedgehog movie, I quite enjoyed it. I think that it would be worth comparing and contrasting with the Detective Pikachu movie as adaptions of popular game franchises, like both not super amazing, but are totally passable video game movies, and would love sequels that take more of a risk.

Snatched

recorded it for my mother because she tends to like Goldie Hawn movies, had absolutely no expectations myself, but it was better than expected for the kind of movie it is, despite the beginning being dreadful

Long shot

Nothing groundbreaking plot wise but I'm a pretty big Seth Rogan fan and this was hilarious! I am not a Charlize Theron fan but she was better than expected. I recommend!!

Jo Jo Rabbit.

A 10 year old German boy named Johannes whose greatest ambition in life is to grow up to be a fanatical Nazi, despite the fact that he's actually kindhearted. So much so, he acquires the insulting name Jo Jo Rabbit when he's unable to bring himself to kill a rabbit to prove his Nazi ruthlessness. He's also incredibly imaginative, making his imaginary friend Adolf Hitler, even as the real Hitler is driving his country to disaster and defeat. Jo Jo comes to learn that not only is his mother part of the Anti-Nazi resistance, but that she has hidden his deceased sister's Jewish friend in the attic. Jo Jo's relationship with the girl goes from hate to friendship, and ultimately his first crush. Very funny black comedy, and highly recommended.
