Peninsula

I was disappointed... It was supposed to be a stand-alone sequel to the acclaimed South Korean zombie movie Train to Busan, but it apparently got hit hard by The Hollywood Mainstream Hammer..

To me, Peninsula is basically Mad Max + I am Legend + Fast and Furious fed in to a blender.

It also features a veritable horde of bloodthirsty, maniacal and degenerate monsters completely deprived of any redeeming features... and the Zombies aren't that civilized, either.

Sonic the hedgehog with Jim Carrey in. Really good!

Sergio Leone classic!

In Copenhagen a local cinema is currently screening Sergio Leone's Clint Eastwood Westerns... (The Dollars Trilogy)

Just saw the first one, A fistful of Dollars from 1964, yesterday...

City Of The Dead

A British made film from 1960, also known as Horror Hotel. A bit of a cult classic, the plot revolving around witchcraft in New England. Quite atmospheric, especially in the original black and white version, the ending is somewhat absurd but nonetheless effective and memorable. The female lead is played by Venetia Stevenson, and her character is killed halfway through the movie, a bit like Marilyn Monroe's character in Niagara. Venetia Stevenson was divorced at the age of 18, by the way. They spell her name incorrectly in the opening titles as well.

My father loved reading and watching Westerns.

His favorite Western actor was of course Clint Eastwood and had my father managed to get through his treatments without any problems, I would definitely have asked him to try and write a Western with me.

(And I am NOT even a fan of Westerns! )

Spiderman

I watched Goldfinger for the first time last night. I enjoyed it a lot. It was easy to digest being a much shorter film than modern films.

The casual sexism is sometimes annoying for me but I try to put this in context as it is a film from the 60s? and a James Bond film.

Very pacy, well directed, good score. I morbid hobby of mine with old pictures is to check how many of the cast are still alive and I am sorry to see that it seems to be only Sean Connery surviving from this particular film. RIP all.

I think Thunderball is up next.

^ Margaret Nolan was in Goldfinger, and she appears still to be alive. But you're right, virtually all the cast seem to be dead by now.
