pineapple express, i mean sure its ok but its not spine crushing hilarious, i mean the jokes are so predictable, except the bit where the black guy could hear everything they were saying in their cell, that was funny, but the rest of it is just bleeuhghh

Napoleon Dynamite was a real pain in the neck for my husband. He was working with our church youth group when it came out and all he ever heard were lame quotes from it and, "Hey, so-and-so here used to live in the house in the movie, they filmed it in his home town!" Well, whoop-de-doo. They filmed Steel Magnolias an hour or so from where I grew up. You can't win 'em all.

The one I think of is Dirty Dancing. I didn't like Jennifer Gray or Patrick Swayze or any of the songs in it or the premise or the title or the, well, dancing... and I was surrounded by people, including my sister, who not only liked it but were obsessed with it and played the music ALL the time and sang it gleefully to one another when it was not playing! If the baby boomers wanted to show the 80s kids that there was better music than what they were hearing, why did they pick the cheapest 60s pop music crud to pour into their films?
