Hey, I love that film:

Zangeif: "Why did you serve Bison if you knew he was bad?"

DeeJay: "Because he paid me a freaking fortune!"

Zangeif: "You got... paid?"

Rocky Horror is terrifically bad, and lots of people love that, because it's just plain fun. John Waters actually strives to be bad, and I'm not sure but I think Andy Warhol's films were 'bad on purpose', too. For his sake, I hope so.

Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of my favorite movies. I recently bought it on DVD. It is indeed a lot of fun to watch. It had people doing movie memes before the internet was even invented, thanks to the audience participation at the theatre showings. The only thing I don't like about it is the ending, which is quite the downer compared to the silly shenanigans of the earlier parts.

And of course there's Zangief's signature line: "Quick, change the channel!" as Chun-Li's explosive-packed truck is busy destroying his boss's base. Why the film-makers decided to portray him as pants-on-head dumb is beyond me, but they definitely made the right decision. Otherwise the movie just wouldn't have been as funny

Sagat: "Is this a joke? This money isn't even worth the paper it's printed on!"
Bison: "On the contrary. Every Bison dollar will be worth five British pounds. That is the exchange rate that the bank of England will implement after I kidnap their queen!! !"

I'm very fond of the Garfield films.

Anyone else here like The Cable Guy?

Ah, yes! The Porno Password scene was a classic.

There's nothing wrong with having your opinion. I don't see why anyone would give you a hard time about your taste in film.

there are LOTS of "artistes" and film snobs [critics] that would give the "bad" film lover a hard time, many folk are happy only when they have put somebody else down. so to the bad film lover, happiness to you!

why is it so important to be able to "tell the difference?"

Is it OK? No. Absolutely not. And you're a horrible person, too.

Also, try the Power Rangers movie.

 LOL.

One man's meat, another man's poison and all that. Nothing at all wrong with liking the bad movies, of course.

I wouldn't see the critics as having any more authority than anyone else on determining what is quality. They're just people with opinions of their own -- and their opinions are no more than that.

Any movie that is entertaining is good. For me, a bad movie is one that doesn't bother to be entertaining. If there is no element of surprise or novelty, then I get bored.

Probably my favorite bad movie is "Forbidden Zone" by Richard Elfman. Awful, offensive, tacky, cheap sets. But very entertaining.

And then here's something that is probably one of the best films ever made...

It's subjective. There are no objective properties of 'goodness' or 'badness'. It doesn't make much sense to me that you would like a film and consider it bad.
