@TheDoctor82: if spongebob gets cancelled, and the avatar spinoff isn't that good, nickeleodeon will be gone forever.

I know Big Time Rush isn't bringing in the dough that they thought it was, but you really think iCarly isn't doing it either?

@TheDoctor82: Nickelodeon will be gone forever. A evil clone named money grubbing corporate greed station will be in its place.

I don't think it's any worse than almost anything else on TV at this point...

there's an old saying

"Television is a medium because anything well done is rare. "

so did TV in general; y'know what happened?

If you were to watch some early '80s episodes of TV shows, you'd see them doing a lot of "envelope-pushing" that you don't see today; reason being, the audience was there, the ratings were there, and TV was a medium that was worth quite its weight in advertising revenue.

That's no longer the case.

The audience/ratings are no longer there, and they have no real reason to get concepts/writers that will actually impress people since no one is watching anyway.

TV in general is practically dead.

What...you think that means Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network will try staying above the pack? Not a chance.

the funny thing is that our parent's generation told us how TV was junk that was rotting our brain, and apparently we listened in the end; but they were the ones who made the MASH series finale one of the highest-rated broadcasts in TV history, and Dallas's "Who Shot JR?" the big thing everyone was talking about the summer of 1980.

I liked the cartoon very much, but I've never seen the movie, so I don't know if it's as horrible as almost everyone says.

Now I'm waiting for the Legend of Korra to come here in Italy, though I alredy seen it in English on the web.

To anyone who has not seen the movie (or doesn't dare see it) and are curious to why it was so poorly received i recommend you watch Eli Stone's (AKA "The cartoon hero") review. He's one of my favourite internet reviewers specializing in animation and a few obscure flicks.

Here's the link: http://www.reviewersunknown.com/549/car ... airbender/ (note: skip to 5:37 for the actual review)

but staying on topic: last decade i had a bit of a snob faze when it came to cartoons and animation from the second half of the 2000's, i seriously underestimated Avatar the last Airbender. It was a great show, good writing and the action was well co-ordinated. Sadly i haven't watched legend of Korra yet.
