A Few Good Men (1992)
Judge Randolph: *Consider yourself in Contempt!*
Kaffee: *Colonel Jessep, did you order the Code Red?*
Judge Randolph: You *don't* have to answer that question!
Col. Jessep: I'll answer the question!
[to Kaffee]
Col. Jessep: You want answers?
Kaffee: I think I'm entitled.
Col. Jessep: *You want answers?*
Kaffee: *I want the truth!*
Col. Jessep: *You can't handle the truth!*
[pauses]
Col. Jessep: Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinburg? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago, and you curse the marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to.
Kaffee: Did you order the Code Red?
Col. Jessep: I did the job I...
Kaffee: *Did you order the Code Red?*
Col. Jessep: *You're Goddamn right I did!*
Brick Top: Go and put the kettle on...
Turkish: Do you take sugar?
Brick Top: No thank you, Turkish.... I'm sweet enough.
Sol: What's that?
Vinny: Heh-heh. This is a shotgun, Sol.
Sol: It's a f***ing anti-aircraft gun, Vincent!
Vinny: Yeah, I wanna raise some pulses, don't I?
Sol: You'll raise hell, never mind pulses!
Actually, almost every line in this movie is quote-worthy, so I just point everyone to its page at WikiQuote
For me, it's Brick Top's "Do you know what Nemisis means?" line, has me in stitches all the time
Another favorite of mine from that movie is:
(as Tyrone proves to be a little too big to get out of the car)
Vinny: Oi! I thought you said he was a get-away driver? Well, what-the-fuck can he get away from?
Also, Bullet-Tooth Tony's "Desert Eagle point-five-oh" speech is terrific too:
Bullet Tooth Tony: ....and the fact that you've got "Replica" written down the side of your guns, and the fact that I've got "Desert Eagle point-five-oh" written on the side of mine, should precipitate your balls into shrinking, along with your presence. Now … f**k off.
From 'Adaptation'
Point is, what's so wonderful is that every one of these flowers has a specific relationship with the insect that pollinates it. There's a certain orchid look exactly like a certain insect so the insect is drawn to this flower, its double, its soul mate, and wants nothing more than to make love to it. And after the insect flies off, spots another soul-mate flower and makes love to it, thus pollinating it. And neither the flower nor the insect will ever understand the significance of their lovemaking. I mean, how could they know that because of their little dance the world lives? But it does. By simply doing what they're designed to do, something large and magnificent happens. In this sense they show us how to live - how the only barometer you have is your heart. How, when you spot your flower, you can't let anything get in your way.
From 'The Ice Storm'
When you think about it, it's not easy to keep from just wandering out of life. It's like someone's always leaving the door open to the next world, and if you aren't paying attention you could just walk through it, and then you've died. That's why in your dreams it's like you're standing in that doorway... and the dying people and the newborn people pass by you... and brush up against you as they come in and out of the world during the night. You get spun around, and in the morning... it takes a while to find your way back into the world.
From 'Apocalypse Now'
I remember when I was with Special Forces... seems a thousand centuries ago. We went into a camp to inoculate some children. We left the camp after we had inoculated the children for polio, and this old man came running after us and he was crying. He couldn't see. We went back there, and they had come and hacked off every inoculated arm. There they were in a pile. A pile of little arms. And I remember... I... I... I cried, I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out; I didn't know what I wanted to do! And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it... I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought, my God... the genius of that! The genius! The will to do that! Perfect, genuine, complete, crystalline, pure. And then I realized they were stronger than we, because they could stand that these were not monsters, these were men... trained cadres. These men who fought with their hearts, who had families, who had children, who were filled with love... but they had the strength... the strength... to do that.
I love that movie, but I've never met anyone else who does.
American Beauty:
"Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much. My heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst. And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life. "
Watchmen:
"In my opinion, the existence of life is a highly over-rated phenomenon. Just look around you--Mars gets along perfectly well without so much as a microorganism. Here it's a constantly-changing topographical map, flowing and shifting around the pole in ripples ten thousand years wide. So tell me: How would all of this be greatly improved by an oil pipeline, by a shopping mall?"

"A flower falls, even though we love it; and a weed grows, even though we do not love it."
From one of my all-time favorite movies, The Zero Effect.
All lines spoken by Darryl Zero (played by Bill Pullman).
"When you go looking for something specific your chances of finding it are very bad because of all the things in the world, you're only looking for one of them. When you go looking for anything at all, your chances of finding it are very good, because of all the things in the world, you're sure to find some of them."
"I always say that the essence of my work relies fundamentally on two basic principles, objectivity and observation (or the two "obs" as I call them). My work relies on my ability to remain absolutely and purely objective, detached. I have mastered the fine art of detachment. And while it comes at some cost, this supreme objectivity is what makes me, I dare say, the greatest observer the world has ever known."
"People know they're being followed when they turn around and see someone following them. They can't tell they're being followed if you get there first."
"I can't possibly overstate the importance of good research. Everyone goes through life dropping crumbs. If you can recognize the crumbs you can trace a path all the way back from your death certificate to the dinner and a movie that resulted in you in the first place. But research is an art not a science because anyone who knows what they're doing can find the crumbs, the "wheres", "whats", and "whos"; the art is in the "whys"--the ability to read between the crumbs (not to mix metaphors)."
"Absolutely vital: The ability to blend in, to very discreetly assimilate. It's not usually very difficult. All you have to do is look around, see how all the ordinary people are behaving, and try to behave like one of them."
However, my favorite part of the movie is the intro, where his assistant, Arlo (played by Ben Stiller) is trying to sell Zero's services to a potential client, Stark (played by Ryan O'Neil). Those scenes alternate with Arlo in a bar with a friend, explaining what Darryl Zero is really like. Here's part of those exchanges, with the bar scenes in italics.
Arlo: Let me tell you about the case of the man with the mismatched shoelaces. [Edited.] My employer had never heard of this missing man, knew nothing about him. After just one hour of desk work, just an hour after accepting the case, he picked up the telephone and placed a call. Guess who answered the phone.
Stark: The missing man.
Arlo: The man with the mismatched shoelaces. Without ever leaving the house.
Arlo: I'm telling you, he never even leaves the house, okay? I mean, he's like some kind of recluse. A complete freak. No social life. In fact, no social skills. F**king strange. When he works he’s the smoothest operator you've seen. Brave, slick, cunning, do anything. Soon as he gets off work it's all gone. Afraid to go to the dry cleaners. Literally. Too uncomfortable in his own skin to go out and eat. Tactless. And inept. Rude too. Just an a**hole.
Arlo: You could meet him a dozen times and not realize it's the same person. He can tell you where you were born, how old your mother was at the time, and what you had for breakfast, all within seconds of meeting you. He can get a criminal to confess without his realizing he's being questioned.
Stark: How does he do it?
Arlo: He has a deeply nuanced and functional understanding of human behavior developed from the great psychoanalytical minds of our time. He understands the criminal mind as well as the innocent mind, the stable mind as well as the
psychotic, sociopathic mind, the male, as well as the female.
Arlo: I don't think he's ever kissed a girl. He's thirty-something years old.
End.
It's much funnier seeing the scene, but I couldn't find a video clip of it.
I love Ghost in the Shell Films:
From Ghost in the Shell:Innocence (paraphrased)
(Batou and Togusa prepare to visit Yakusa hangout)
Batou: What'd he want?
Togusa: Apparently you don't have to be caesar to understand caesar... uh.
(notices Batou place Minimi machinegun in trunk)
Togusa: You planning on starting a war?
Batou: You don't need to be a yakuza to visit the Yakusa, but we'll need weapons, right?
Togusa: I want to get something straight.
Batou: What?
Togusa: We're just going to chat with these guys, right?
Batou: You dislike yakuza?
Togusa: Sure. Detest them.
Batou: Same here.
Togusa: But we're just going to chat, right?
Batou: Like I said, you don't need to be a yakuza ...
Togusa: ...To visit the Yakusa. But you also said we need weapons. I have a family you know.
Batou: I can always go alone.
Togusa: No. I'll go with you, I am your partner. But I want your word.
Batou: Okay. We're just going to chat. I'll avoid shooting as best I can. Happy now?
Togusa: Just fine.
Batou: Let's go then, pal.
(Batou and Togusa arrive at Yakusa Hangout...)
Yakusa Thug: What do YOU Want!?
Batou: We're here to chat with Wakabayashi. Go get him.
(Thugs draw their guns. Batou brings out Minimi and mows them down in spectacular shooting sequence.)
Togusa (In shock): What happened to "Avoid shooting?"
Batou (lightheartedly): I meant it, I really did. They pulled out their guns!

Love that movie too. I think the only person I know who has seen it is my brother. American beauty is one of my favs also. Good pick.
