To answer both those questions, Jamesy.... NO. Why would Bane need to resemble a pro-wrestler anyway? And Christopher Nolan doesn't have any homo-erotic tendencies like your boyfriend Joel Schumacher obviously has.

I have a bisexual friend who refers to Schumacher's Batman And Robin as the "homoerotic Batman." It's getting bad when someone who is a step or two away from being gay considers a particular movie to be "gay!"

Why does Bane need to look like a pro wrestler?

Why does Superman need to nance around in blue tights with his underwear on the outside? Ans: It's the way the character has been defined by the artists in the comics. Starting from his initial appearance, Bane has dressed in wrestler tights and a gimp mask. It's just what he looks like.

OTOH, he's also depicted as intelligent and highly articulate. (You aren't going to take down the Bat by simply being big and strong - ask Killer Croc or Solomon Grundy.) Schumacher's films got a lot of basic things wrong. That was just one of them.

Jamesy, I have a question for you. Have you ever seen the 60's series of Batman featuring adam West? or Batman the Brave and the Bold?

Except that is exactly what Bane is. He's also very savvy and streetwise but, make no mistake, he is an overly-muscled brute. Very smart....but friggin' huge.

Dunno....I'm not that familiar with the nervous system to know where the break would need to be for that to happen. That'd be awkward, though:

Thank you for being the only person to actually answer this particular post. Didn't think anyone actually would. :)

Lexington I thought we would be acting civil towards each others on these forums from now on? Obvisouly not :?

Anyway maybe if they did give bane the mask in the TDKR they should do it in more realistic style??? Remember the mask really is bane and when people think of the character they always picture him with his mask on. Nolan stood faithful to the joker character by giving him face paint and the right clothing, same with scarecrow and two face......... so i really do not see any reason why Nolan would not make Bane muscular and have him in a mask in TDKR whle at the same time make him intelligent ???????????????

Jamesy, I have a question for you. Have you ever seen the 60's series of Batman featuring adam West? or Batman the Brave and the Bold?

NO

why not? batman forever took inspiration from the 60's series. the 60's series was inspired by the comic books at the time. and the comic books from the 60's inspired the brave and the bold. so, i thought you would like it, considering you like the campy side of batman

batman and robin's bane again, wasn't anywhere near as intellegent as he was supposed to be. also, as skafather84 said, bane in batman and robin had green skin. plus, he (the bane in batman and robin) had a really weird outfit. (WTF was with that spike thing around his waist?)

Sometimes if the old adam west series is on tv i might tune into it and it can cheer me up sometimes with its over the top acting. but still overall i am not really that into nor do i care about it as much as i did when i was younger basicly i virtually never watch it except for once in a blue moon these days.

in some ways the adam west series was quite a head of its time.
