Hollywood loves money, but I might check it out anyways. I won't expect it to be as good though.
It doesn't bother me at all, but then I've never cared much about continuity. It would only bother me if they used any of the villains from the Raimi films. I don't think Hollywood's love of money has anything to do with it. The next Spider-Man movie was going to gross more money than most cocaine warlords make in a lifetime, regardless of whether it was a sequel or a reboot, and the Raimi series was at a creative dead end anyway.
