I love The Simpsons. It's funny and smart. To be fair, I've never really watched Family Guy.

As much as I love Family Guy... well series 1-3 only... I have liked the Simpsons for a lot longer. For a while I felt as if the Simpsons were trying to be Family Guy with their gags, but I have just started watching series 19 and I am really enjoying it on the whole. There have been quite a few jokes which have literally made me lol!

I choose Family Guy for pure humor..
The Simpsons was great in it's heyday (Seasons 1-8 ) But anything beyond that point was plain garbage..
Family guy is still brilliant at times, The simpsons is just tedious at this stage.

Beavis and Butthead/King Of The Hill > ALL

People who don't understand the brash humor of B&BH (that's what they call it in the streets) are silly.

People who don't understand the subtle humor of KOTH (that's what the internet calls it) are silly.

Simpsons>Family Guy

American Dad>Family Guy

A lot of other things>Family Guy

Cleveland Show<Family Guy

You can say, "Oh well, it used to be good!"

So was power rangers, sock em boppers, and barney.

You liked it because you were younger and immature.

Some people still like it because they are still immature.

Also: Most shows become crap after the seventh season.

So there. Any great show can become crap. No matter how good it once was.

I voted Simpsons largely because of it's omnipresence in pop culture.
Family Guy is O.K, but I think "Robot Chicken" Seth Green's better body of work.

I really like both but I voted for Family Guy because the humor is more outrageous, offensive & nonstop; I think the Simpsons are a little tamer than FG. Also I don't like The Simpsons as much as I did when I was a kid; maybe because I'm older & TV is more liberal now so I don't find them as endge as I did then even thou they have gotten more edgy sense they been out.

The Simpsons are just hilarious and often critical and almost family friendly. That's why I love it! :D
Family Guy lives often by celebrity insults who aren't really funny and also lives by brutality.

I like to add, I've been watching Family Guy seasons backwards lately, by which I mean I watch every season from episode 1 to the last episode, and then I move to the previous season. This means that I went from the last episode of season 5 to the first episode of season 1 last week. And, boy, what a shift that was! Watching the first episode of season 4, I was especially happy to see the 'original' Brian and Stewie, the Stewie who habitually addresses Brian as 'dog', Peter as 'fat man' and has a whole arsenal of insane weaponry and plans for world domination.

Also, season 4 seems to be less rife with the extreme violence you see in later episodes.

But I still love Family Guy.

When I was younger, I used to LOVE The Simpsons!! It was my favorite show back then. As soon as I was allowed to watch Family Guy, my opinions changes. I could no longer laugh at anything on The Simpsons. So I stopped watching it and although I've been"upgraded" to South Park, I still think Family Guy's really funny!

think FUturama and Simpsons have far better writing voerall. When I want weird and crude I'd rather watch Robot Chicken, because it is about 50% good (75% older) instead of Family Guy's miniscule hit rate about (5-10%)

I like a lot of the cutaways in Family Guy - Swedish baker, the Osmonds, Consuela, etc.

Neither, Futurama is far far superior.
