Nope that's a common fallacy - AS only entails you have a normal IQ in the same sort of percentile distribution as the general population, unlike classical autism which generally entails a reduced IQ in relation to "normality".

I've heard Kim Peek interviewed on our local radio station. He is very interesting. The deejay said he "was the inspiration for Rain Man" but I figured there were others. Raymond has enough troubles,when I first started to think there was something different with me neurologically, Rainman was one movie that convinced me I couldn't have autism or any other related condition.

I didn't learn about Asperger's till about 2002/3, and a couple friends who had it, I kept seeing bits and pieces in hwo they acted, and it made me think more and more about it, till I started looking more and more into the spectrum and just what it could entail.

Now I can pinpoint one other college buddy and wonder if he has it. I think he could very well.
