Can't wait for their hilarious take on bipolar disorder and suicide.
Actually I've seen some comedy routines that deal with these, and I find some of them quite funny. A lot of comedians experience depression, bipolar disorder, and suicidal thoughts. Comedy can be a way of dealing with pain, taking the sting out of it. Louis C.K. is a prime example.
There's a huge difference between laughing at something because you can't relate to it (mockery), and laughing because you can relate to it.
Would you still be offended if you found out that all those actors or the director of Aspergers High actually had Aspergers? Suppose that were the case - then perhaps the humor is found not in mocking Aspergers traits, but in poking fun at how ridiculous and over the top stereotypes people have are (all the while displaying an awareness of traits Aspies actually do have)
Exactly. Thank you for saying what I wanted to, but with a much better explanation. Besides, it was most likely made FOR people with AS because of this; the only place I've ever seen this clip is on websites dealing with AS or other PDD, where the intended audience will see it. Why post it somewhere where no one will understand the inside jokes? Then it just wouldn't be funny.
