i think gene shalit should've been the one! 0%  0%  [ 0 ]
truman capote would've made a good choice! 0%  0%  [ 0 ]
nobody but john wayne should've been considered! 0%  0%  [ 0 ]
ernest borgnine woulda been perfect! 14%  14%  [ 2 ]
jonathan winters woulda made a fine callahan! 7%  7%  [ 1 ]

i watched "rage" with george c. scott, and came to the conclusion that he also woulda made an odd but good inspector callahan.

If the Dirty Harry movies were being remade, the only two actors IMOO who could pull it off
easily would be either Bradley Cooper or Chris Hemsworth.
