The difference between Uma Thurman's haircut in the 1996 version and Anne Hathaway's haircut in the 2012 version is like the difference between a few regular bombs dropping on a city and a nuclear warhead dropping on a city.

Fantine is not supposed to be an attractive character btw. She is of the gutter, pretty much, because of circumstance, much like many people end up that way. She is supposed to symbolize someone with a secret that causes people to go absolutely rabid toward her, like in the factory where she worked. So, she ends up on the street doing anything she can to survive after she gets kicked out of her job due to the foreman discovering she lied about having a child. She is not going to look like a princess ffs.
She also symbolizes, to a certain extent, the idea of Madonna and Child.

I'm not "sick of it", but I'm not really a fan of the pixie do either. Of course, I don't judge people who choose that do.

Fantine is a hero in all this.

I said in another thread, Anne Hathaway choose to have her hair cut for the role. No one forced Her, it was an acting choice.

I like girls with short hair and I think it looks good on her! I'm a guy and I get picked on for being feminine and having long hair so STFU!

On the recent photos of her, her hair is starting to grow out a little it looks nicer now.

She is a good actress and I like several movies Anne Hathaway has been in, but the short hair she is sporting is not flattering or is not a good hair cut.
