I just watched the first 14 episodes of Sword Art Online which averaged out to be pretty good.

SAO is a good show, it was pretty much a phenomenon to anime viewers, a site I use had it become the largest series discusion thread at a total of 244 pages, even if a lot of it was fights.

If you enjoy that I recomend checking out Accel World next, it is written by the same auther and has a few connections.

Yeah that show just finished, it was quite the watch in terms of its themes and messages. It reminded me of the novel Brave New World in terms of a dystopia that defies standard morals of our time.

Certainly some good choices mentioned, could recommend loads to you but it all depends on what genre you like.

My personal favorite top 3 are: Great Teacher Onizuka, Trigun & Chobits

Of the recently stuff i've watch i would recommend the likes of Sword Art Online, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

The only anime I've ever watched was "Clannad", it's two seasons long, and totally amazing, but sad. I won't give anything away, but important characters end up dying. I've never been too big on anime, but I really love this one; the soundtrack is really pretty too, you can find it on youtube, just type in "Clannad" and it'll give you plenty of hits.

I'd had heard a lot of interesting things about it when it was getting it's UK DVD release so I got the box set and realy enjoyed it and I liked the anime style, but yeah then it disappeared and you don't see it around too much. I don't know if it only appeals to a small audience or if Lil' Slugger took out the distributors so the truth wouldn't get out
