I don't see enough foreign films :( .

The Queen was excellent but I see plenty of British films. It's the foreign language films I don't see enough of. I really liked "Letters from Iwo Jima." "Downfall" was very good as well. I was kinda worried about that one (it portrays the last days of Hitler in the bunker), but they handled it in an appropriate manner.

Triplets of Belleville....that was a hella weird one, but I kinda liked it too.

District B13 or Banlieue 13 as is the title in French.

Huozhe (Chinese), or "To live" as the English title is. It was banned in China due to its depiction of the Communist Revolution.

Spirited Away.

Then this one French movie I can't remember the title of. Gerard Depardieu stars in it (surprise surprise), and it takes place in WWII. It pretty much revolves around escaping the Nazi invasion of France.

The only Afghan movie I know of is Osama, about the girl who wanted to get a job, but she couldn't because the Taliban didn't allow females to work.

Dude, you rock. These are my two favorite directors. I've only seen two of Svankmajer's films, however (Alice and Faust), and a bunch of his shorts. Which of his full lengths would you consider his best after those?

Akira Kurosawa is great, too, I love how his towns are always rainy!

Dude, I remember loving that movie when I was little. Quality entertainment with just animals, a camera, and a narrator, without cheesy fart jokes or anything like that. Nobody makes movies like that anymore!

Oh my god!

that movie freaked me out a lot!
I saw it when I was like 10, alone, and almost falling asleep, so I saw only parts
of it, it was very late and I watched it in TV. I later watched more of it, never
fully understanding it. (I speak spanish, but the movie has very heavy accent
of spanish from Spain, but here in america the accent is very different, that's
why I never fully understood what they said)

Spirited Away - Japan
-The animation was great, and so was the music. They also didn't slack off on the redubbing, like a lot of animated productions .

Metropolis - Germany
-This had some pretty nice art direction. It might be the only feature-length silent film I've ever seen.

The Titfield Thunderbolt - U.K.
-This movie was funny, and my appreciation for trains helped me to enjoy it.

Akira - Japan
-Not my favorite movie, but it had an excellent visual style.
