TV shows that everyone but you watches
Seinfeld. Not funny.
Friends: More then not funny, so dumb it gives me agrresions.
That series about the three witches about 10 years ago. Dont know, that Sex and the City girl behaviour gives me aggressions.
Actual series: 2 broke girls. I think that was invented to torture prisoners in Guantanamo. Another series goes for that as well, I think "the new girl" or "the mean girl" or whatever.
Lost: Didnt see the first episodes, and so couldnt catch up with the later ones.
True blood...oh please, no more "serious" romantic vampires. Buffy with Spike was already on the limit, and that series wasnt meant serious. ^^ But after all of that "Yawn" or "Dawn" films, I cant stand any new.
Games of Thrones: Want to read the books, but right now I am into another endless bookseries. ^^
OC California: Whenever I zapped in, some guys where arguing and hysterical crying about nonsense. O_o
Dr. Who: Beside Scrubs and Dr. House I dont like Dr. and Hospital series (or general Dr. series that are based on dramas, romance...), and the last ones I gave a try, really were as boring as expected. (The one with the asian doctress and the black doc.)
Yop, I know already. I was informed 4 weeks ago, after I wondered myself why good friend of us, had the crazy idea to present us with Dr. Who series for wedding, when none of us both likes Dr. series. XD
Edit: About the last poster...oh hell, all that "We search a singstar!" shows and similar nonsense, I tried to eridicate out of my mind completly.
Not disagreeing with you, nor starting on the defensive because everyone is entitled to their opinions. Just a few pointers:
Presumably, by "that series with the three witches", you mean Charmed. And Dr Who couldn't be further from Grey's Anatomy ("Asian doctor") and E.R and medical dramas (I'm personally not sure where Scrubs fits into that category myself but hey); it's a hybrid sci-fi/fantasy adventure/light-drama series. And TruBlood umm... I think it was trying to examine human behaviour with vampires and werewolves in place of ethnic/cultural minorities, so it's not a straight-out Twilight-esque romance series - it's quite brutal in places. But don't quote me on that because I only got as far as episode 4 of Series 1; I found it was way too difficult for me to get a grasp on it. It has its audience though.
I'm not defending either of them by the way, I just don't feel it's right to lumber a show in the wrong category. That's like saying Spaceballs is the same as Battlestar Galactica because they both take place in outer space, when really, they're two clearly different things, that's all. Just saying.
Anyway, to continue the thread, I forgot to add Walking Dead to my earlier post - I tried reading the graphic novel but... mneh, didn't work for me either, which is quite a shame really. I used to really like Robert Kirkman's work and all... oh well.

I have shortened the quotes a bit, but I think you missed some sentences of mine. I underlined them. And nope, I dont blame you for that, I was laughing myself, when I was explained about it. So I was whondering all the time, why so many people I knew, that are normally not into Dr. series, mentioned to be fan of that, until I got exaplained four weeks ago, that its not a Dr./hospital series. XD
Edit: About all that new vampire series you reacted with "And TruBlood umm... I think it was trying to examine human behaviour with vampires and werewolves in place of ethnic/cultural minorities, so it's not a straight-out Twilight-esque romance series - it's quite brutal in places." Its not about brutality, also not about vampires being able to feel erotic. Classic vampires often had an "extraterrestrial" appearness. I simply dont like that "new vampires" thing. Classic vampires was an ancient being of might, with the experience, wisdom and knowledge of centuries, as well as because of it being advanced in so many way to the being that surrounds him, a creature of absolute natural independence and self esteem, thinking in decades and centuries instead of hours and days. I simply suppose something not to act and react, like a typical 20-30 years old human.

My apologies - I didn't quite understand what that sentence was supposed to mean so I thought it was either sarcasm or internet humour. At any rate, motion retracted.
First, pretty much any sitcom - I haven't really been in to any Sitcoms since the Golden Girls, Empty Nest, Family Matters and Perfect Strangers. After those went off the air I pretty much lost interest. Though lately I've watched all of The Big Bang Theory.
Second, just a lot of popular shows in general - Dexter, Breaking Bad, Arrested Development etc. Not that I specifically don't want to watch them, they just haven't made it high enough up into my priority queue to have watched them yet.
Third, most reality shows. I only watch the ones that my girlfriend likes and only because our TV is in earshot of our computer. Otherwise for the most part I find them anything but reality and instead I think they're all contrived.
Having said all that, I don't even feel like I know what everyone watches these days. I don't hear a lot of watercooler talk in my office, for instance, about this show or that show any more. I think with so many cable channels and so many of them producing original content these days, TV viewship has fragmented somewhat and so when a show is relatively popular these days, not as many people watch as used to watch popular shows in the past.
@Schneekugel: arguably, the characters in 'Charmed' didn't start out with 'Sex And The City' attitudes. For its first three seasons, the Halliwell sisters were ambitious young women who were each taking their respective careers pretty seriously, especially Prue as an appraiser at an auction house, and Piper as a chef. Phoebe's portrayal as a 'rolling stone' of sorts, was also sympathetic.
It wasn't until some time after Paige was introduced, that the Charmed sisters began to adopt more of a high roller fashionista attitude, especially Phoebe working for that magazine, but I suspect that may also have something to do with a change in lifestyle for the actresses themselves, due to the increase of their bankroll and the influence they had on the production of the later seasons.

Anyway, shows everybody's watching but I'm not, include but are not limited to:
Breaking Bad
Mad Men
Game Of Thrones
In the previous decade:
Lost
Heroes
Battlestar Galactica
I recently discovered 'Parks & Recreations', and I'm glad that I did. One of the few comedy shows where I'm fond of every single character. Also, it's curious that I like it so much, as I never cared for its spiritual predecessor 'The Office', in either its American or its British incarnation.

1980s game shows and L.A. Law. Does that count?

Because people like being fooled. I'm 70% certain that 'Catfish' is staged and scripted as well, and mayyybe based upon actual events in a number of cases. But people would rather watch the more outrageous scenarios, than watch actual long-range internet romances that have a happy end with two genuine people communicating.
It's like the function that Jerry Springer had back in the 90s. It's like pro-wrestling. People know it's fake, but it's fake-pretending-to-be-real. That's the kick.

Walking Dead- Tried to read the comics, but part of me wanted to smack half of the Survivors. It seemed like a lot of the decent people got killed off or left while leaving a lot of the irritating people behind. I liked the sheriff (Rick, was it?) but most of the teenagers were arrogant asshats who only cared about finding someone and getting laid instead of being you know, intelligent Survivors.
So if I didn't care for the comics, I wouldn't care for the show. I have never seen an episode of this.
True Blood- I don't care to see vampires or werewolves as some kind of proxy cultural group, all the while attempting to be semi-erotic and angsty. But you know why that premise doesn't work for me? Because nothing is erotic about a walking corpse or a person that turns into a wolf. Most of these types of shows fail to show these as they really are: as monsters. Being one of these isn't supposed to be cool and sexy, it's supposed to be a hellish existence.
So I don't even want to look at this travesty of a show. It veers off too close into Twilight territory.
