How I Met Your Mother. I tried watching an episode and couldn't even get through it.

I'll also concur with the anti-Friends sentiment.

I'd say I have a love-hate relationship with Maury.

Shows that I've seen and don't like but everybody else likes:
The Big Bang Theory, The Walking Dead, most reality TV shows, Modern Family, Suburgatory, That 70's Show.

Shows that people say I'll like and everybody and their grandmother likes but I technically haven't seen and can't seem to gather and interest for but plan to try anyway *gasp*:
Game of Thrones
Breaking Bad
Supernatural
Doctor Who
Dexter
Downton Abbey

I absolutely can't stand anything that comes on the CW that revolves around being immortal and going to high school forever. I won't even watch New Girl or the Mindy Project. I can't stand Ugly Betty or True Blood. Don't even get me started on Game of Thrones or the Good Wife. There's probably more I hate but...oh, yeah. I hate Breaking Bad and House of Cards too.

I had the same experience with this show and it also was like this with Two and a Half Man for me.

Game of Thrones, whenever I hear something from that shows it's always either murder, rape, or incest, or a combination thereof... yea no thanks.

It's medieval fantasy, and the books, despite low-key fantasy elements, attempt to depict medieval life with a lot of realism. The show, while keeping vaguely to the plot of the books, loses a lot of that realism, along with philosophical depth and allot of the morally ambiguous characterisation. Still, for all the shows flaws, I would be hard pressed to think of an instance of medieval-fantasy on film that is better, but that's not saying much. The books are incredible, anyway.

I actually avoid reading much of history for that reason, and I do recall the author explaining why he tends to look down at a lot of fantasy, because ti's not as brutal reflection of the world, but that's why I actually like the fantasy genre, it's not as as twisted as real life, it's an escape -- a much needed one.

I hate reading on history for its sheer brutality, some of the stuff that went on in the past is extremely depresing, making all of humanity seem more like animals than people.... When you realize how common rape was and how it was just a normal part of war back then, suddenly I want to eject myself from the human race. The slaves humans took after a battle were't just there for manual labor, want to know something especially creepy? The women of Iceland all have genes of Celtic origin, while the men have genes from Scandinavia...when I started learning those little facts i immeidately stopped myself from exploring those topics further. I really didn't need or want to know that.

But isn't that lovely? An entire nation of rape-babies, I feel sick just typing that. if people want to pollute their brains with filth, go right ahead, Me? I prefer thinking happy thoughts.

How do you know that was all - or even mostly - the result of rape?

I highly doubt the Celtic women left their families and everything they've known willingly, to be with total strangers on a continent they never heard of. The Celtic women were slaves captured by the vikings during the invasions of Britain, heard it on a lecture on medieval history, depressed me for awhile.

While there were doubtlessly many Irish women taken as captives, and either were used as sexual slaves (rape), or they or their children had been freed to marry Scandinavian men, it's also true that there had been a significant Norwegian Viking settlement in Ireland, and very probably the men married local women. From there, they might have set sail to Iceland.

Tell you the truth, the uber-annoying opening title track didn't do much in itself to appeal me to it.

i don't watch television anymore but i cannot stand Adventure Time. from the 2 episodes i've seen of Friends i can say i don't like it either.
also...disney channel i don't think anyone actually does like it but that channel is probably the worst thing to have infected my televisions. how does that trash relate to classic disney anyway?

The only reason I would watch the Disney Channel is if there is a movie. Otherwise it's gone down hill.

Adventure time is overrated and disturbing. Why I would say that the person who did that show has to be on drugs.
