If that's true then you're missing out, because Aliens is amazing.

The difference between Alien and Aliens was, the former was a genuine horror film meant to terrify the audience, while the latter was more of a military/action film where the xenomorphs are hardly as invincible.

Anybody see 'Alien' circa.1979?

I remember the film was "ahead of it's time" regarding the realism of what space travel may be like. I found the film disturbing; hence I have not seen another 'Alien' movie since 1979.

I saw it in 1982 for the first time on British TV and it had everyone talking about it in school and even the parents were talking about it! I really sh*t me up though as I was a kid at that time.

Shouldn't the next in the series be a Prometheus sequal? That movie looked like it would be the first of a series. The ending implies there will at least be a sequal.

I think they should give up on Prometheus. It was a total disaster.

I think some good options would be:

Do a film showing the story of what happened to the colonists that Ripley and the marines had to go and rescue in Aliens. They could make a good film out of that story and Sigourney Weaver needn't be in it.

Another would be to have it in the future where experts go to that planet to investigate the alien ship, they could send in robots and do experiments from afar, but then something goes wrong and......whatever.
