I never watched that show. I don't watch much horror & I never got into the zombie trend other than liking the original Night Of The Living Dead.

I've seen five seasons worth, and I've yet to work up the effort to watch six or seven. I'm a horror/gore buff and have probably seen more zombie films than I've had hot meals, but considering its level of popularity, I consider 'The Walking Dead' to be overrated.

For me, the show's simply not engaging enough. With very few exceptions, I can't bring myself to care about any of the characters or what happens to them because they're either bland/annoying/cliched enough that I don't care if they survive, and the characters that are engaging and likable - Daryl or Michonne, for example - are practically guaranteed to survive because they're fan favorites, thus eliminating any tension. The series has also had a lot of excruciatingly slow patches where nothing really happens or they have plot threads that don't really go anywhere.

On top of that, it doesn't really offer anything subversive in the way of social commentary or satire as most zombie fiction is typically known for, and is utterly bereft of any kind of humor which saves it from becoming the overwrought melodrama it almost always is. I hate comparing things because I prefer to look at any piece of media on its own merits, but 'The Walking Dead' just pales in comparison to the films which inspired it, especially the Romero trilogy.

I guess I don't actively dislike it since I've managed to watch five seasons of it, but I have no emotional attachment to it whatsoever...it's merely a passable way to spend an hour and often there's some good special effects work to watch, but I certainly don't obsess over it.

I'm not into it, and I think the whole "zombie apocalypse" thing is really, really overrated. It was cool... back in 2011. Not so much now.

I'm not...I've never watched it and never had an interest in doing so, seems like it would be boring and I'd just end up waiting for something to happen, plus there's already enough zombie movies why do they need a t.v show which will basically be like a long drawn out, less engaging version of zombie movies?

I hate-watch it. I haven't really enjoyed the show since Season 4. I know a lot of people praise it, but I thought Season 5 was TERRIBLE aside from the first couple episodes. Season 6 was a slight improvement. I did really like the Season 7 premiere, but the subsequent two episodes were meh.

basically what I do too

I really like the zombie genre and TWD has it's moments but sometimes it is so bad it's unwatchable

Agree about season 5 altho Tyrese's episode is probably my favorite of the entire series, everything since Alexandria has been just terrible tho. I thought Season 6 was worst tho, I could haven't even finished it or started 7 yet.

Need more actors from The Wire

I don't watch it. My brother does, and I've heard the sounds of it coming from his room, and that's as close as I ever want to get to actually watching it. Too gory for my taste.

No, I am not into the Walking Dead or any of that Zombie stuff. I always found the Zombie genre to be stupid and boring.

I don't watch it, and that's because I don't have a TV. Would I watch it? Sure, as I'm a huge horror fan. I'd tune in, especially if it's graphic as f*ck.

I don't watch it. I watch very little TV, but even if I was visiting and that's what was on--I would look for another room to be in. I got sick of the zombie craze years ago. I am really very much ready for the whole concept of a zombie apocalypse to find a quiet corner where the dedicated fans could do their thing without subjecting the whole world to their zombie obsession.

I thought I was the only one who has been thinking that, glad I'm not. :)

I think zombies are popular because people like the fantasy of masses of people losing their humanity, becoming something that's "not human", and therefore becoming fair game for killing. No one's gonna argue with you if you wanna blast a zombie's head off with a 12 gauge; after all, they're not really "human" anymore.
