I am not a fan or horror but here’s a few I enjoyed —

All of Hitchcock’s movies.

Rosemary’s baby.

And The Others.

Oh yeah Rosemary's Baby was really good! I liked the shock in the end of how a mother could still love her baby even if he or she was the most evil thing on earth. That haunting lullaby she sung in the end still stays in my head whenever I think of that movie.

Yeah it manages to give me the creeps everytime I watch it. And I’ve watched it a few times.

The original Japanese film is from 1998 =)

I know, but I prefer the remake. I hate reading movies, it just means I will miss out on so much on screen because I'm busy reading the entire movie. If at least it had been dubbed, like 'My wife is a gangster is'...
Plus the kid Aidan is pretty creepy! He's reason enough to watch the movie IMO.
I actually rewatched it today, it was nice.

Why do so many horror movies have a creepy little psychic kid?

He kind of reminded me of Danny from The Shining.

Abbott & Costello met almost all the classic horror villains, but they weren't creepy psychic kids.

I think the creepy psychic kid or creepy girl with powers cliche came out after the Stephen King era of horror movies from the 70's and 80's. Makes me think of characters like Carrie, Danny from The Shining, the little girl from Rose Red, etc. I think they may have inspired characters like the little boy from both versions of The Ring and the boy who "sees dead people" from The Sixth Sense. I also think Carrie, in a way, inspired the four girls from The Craft and also the little girl from Stephanie.

Invasion of the Body Snatches (1978)
Phantasm (1979)
Silence of the Lambs (1991)

I've watched it so many times, and I've read the book, so it's hard to miss anything when you know it so well =)

I haven't watched the remake in forever, but what I miss most about it is that it doesn't take place in Japan

Also, the sequel (Ring Two) has nothing to do with the novels (and little to do with the movie before it), so you never get to follow the rest of the story and find out why the virus exists, and what it's trying to accomplish.

The Korean remake has an English dub, but like most dubs, the acting is pretty bad. It is a tiny bit more faithful to the novel than the Japanese version, but honestly, I don't think it's that important to know that Sadako (or whatever her Korean name was) had androgen insensitivity syndrome.

Sadako (Samara) is the psychic one, not Yoichi (Aiden).

I haven't watched it that many times, so although familiar with the movie, I don't know the dialogue by heart (there are only 4 movies I have watched to that extent, I think, TMNT 1 and 2, Mystery at Castle House and The Good Son; it was in my preteens and teens that I would watch them over and over).

I know of the novels, but I haven't read them.

Sadako's Korean name is Park Eun-suh, by the way. I only watched it (and Uzumaki) because Eun-Kyung Shin from My wife is a gangster was in it, and I wanted to see how she was in that one since I thought she was awesome as a gangster!

But Aidan seemed to have a connection to Samara that he surely couldn't have had unless he too had some psychic powers.

Yeah, he too was creepy with his finger (and that voice) and "redrum! redrum"

Apropos redrum, there is a Korean manga called Redrum 327. I liked it. I just had to read it with that title!

Yeah and he somehow was able to predict his cousin's death and was drawing pictures of her.

Another example I forgot was Job's sister Sarah in Children of the Corn who predicted the massacre against all the adults in Gatlin by drawing pictures of Isaac and his followers killing everybody in town and she also drew pictures of Burt and Vicky arriving in town in their yellow car.
