I suppose I'm the only big enough Red Dwarf fan to rank them first...

Then Star Trek, then Doctor Who. Although if I'd been born in the UK, maybe I'd be more sentimental about the latter.

Red Dwarf is good enough. And to all you Trekkies out there, Patrick Stewart was going to phone his lawyer to sue Red Dwarf for being a Star Trek ripoff until he realised that it was a comedy. He's a big fan. So, I will be mature about this and go... :P

I voted for BSG, hopefully the 4th season wraps it up nicely since they are making it its last, which I have to say is not a bad decision rather than let the show run to long and lose steam and just get canceled. At least we will likely have a complete story here.

But it was a toss up between that and Stargate. Ive been going and watching all the episodes of Stargate on DVD and it really is a good show too, and makes so much more sense when watched in order as opposed to the random episodes I'd seen before. Currently on Season 8 of the DVDs after having watched the first 7 since the beginning of the year.

Had Firefly not been canceled by Fox, it would likely top my list if it had actually gotten multiple seasons of the same quality as what was made. It was such a fantastic start for the show and then unceremoniously dumped by the idiots at Fox. Why Whedon is consorting with them again for his new show Dollhouse, I really don't know.

saw BSG (have season 1 and 2 as dvd waiting for nbr 3) and it was amazing how retro sf it looks with all the 'used' stuff (using bullets instead of beams etc)

I am more a stargate fan then a startrek fan but i watch both of them but now i am more in a stargate peroid because they show stargate early on a dutch channel and startrek late on bbc (then i am sleeping)

i know only dr who from the series with the 9-10 th doctor (tennant etc)

Blake 7 was an old favorite of mine ( but a week ending at the end of 4th season) and also space 1999 (only 2 seasons)

I luv the earlier seasons of Stargate. Not to mention the film it was based off. That was brilliant movie, a UFO shaped as a pyramid. It's called The Stargate in case anyone hasn't seen it. I highly recommend it.

I voted for Stargate (obviously).

As MissConstrue has said, the movie is brilliant. But the series are even better, at least until season 8. The mythology, the science, the humour, the action, the characters and many other things make it the best sci-fi series ever, IMO.

the film is awesome, its a shame they never got to carry on with the original trilogy. as much as i love the series (both) pretty much everything in it has nothing to do with the original Stargate film. i keep meaning to buy the books but im always forgetting :S

Where is Babylon 5? and Firefox? I also happened to like the 4400 a lot, although the last season it kind of took a turn. And Taken.

Star Trek: because of TNG
Stargate because of Atlantis
