There were so many, but my favorite has to be Ren and Stimpy.

Never thought much of Ren and Stimpy. That sense of humour just didn't appeal to me, I guess....
I need a recommendation for a good cartoon. Something dark, with lots of action, suspense, intellectual heft, and quotable dialogue.

I really like Family Guy more than The Simpsons better than the recent seasons.

I've seen all seasons of Family Guy and the Stewie Griffin movie, although I live in the UK and season 4 hasn't aired yet and Stewie Griffin movie hasn't come out on DVD their are other ways you can get them

"cough P2P cough"

Anyway Peter Griffin is the new Homer Simpson, in his words, He's Freakin Sweet!! !

Never thought much of Trigun. I didn't like the artwork or the animation, and the jokes simply weren't funny.

Heh, I had a whole big list of ten of them before, I don't remember where they are.

Right now, its all about Batman, and I also watch Family Guy whenever I can.

American Dad
Family Guy
George of the Jungle
Rocky & Bullwinkle
Bugs Bunny (any BB toon will do)
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Space Ghost Coast-to-Coast
Ren and Stimpy
TV Funhouse (SNL)

I like cartoons that are satirical, farcical or subversive. Cartoons can get any with being subversive because the "Right people" think they're just cartoons. As Bugs might say, "They don't know us very well, do they?"

Unfortunately I just don't find Family Guy or the Simpsons funny any more; they would be my favorites, but they've gone on so long that both shows feel like they've run out of ideas, and are trying too hard to be funny without having a decent narrative to support the humor. So I won't list them.

My favorite cartoon of right now is the Boondocks, which is even better than the newspaper strip since they have room for an actual story. It's incredibly poigniant as well as being humorous, especially with episodes like the return of Martin Luther King Jr.

I have several. I don't think I could come up with a single all-time favorite...

-Ren & Stimpy
-Spongebob
-Hey, Arnold!
-The Simpsons
-Doug
-Betty Boop

The Maxx. It played on liquid television along with aeon flux and oddities and beavis and butthead at 4 am years ago.

It is much like an anime, which is why i think i like it so much. (Actually it is just a quality often present in animes, that there is a story, and a point, and it ends. As opposed to american cartoons where there is a concept, and they keep milking it for as long as the cow will give cash.)
