I'm working my way through the series; there's another episode where someone has autism (Atypical Autism in this case). He's the guy who works at the bowling alley, and he's seen as a suspect for the murder of the young women.

It's a good portrayal too.

A good portrayal of the lower-functioning people with atypical autism (PDD-NOS).

He was quite high functioning as long as his routine was followed; he could talk fine, he could work, he lived by himself (he only went to the psyche hospital now and again); the severe anxiety he was feeling from the external events is why he appeared "LFA".

Atypical Autism is usually of a lesser severity than Autistic Disorder; whilst he doesn't look as "normal" as me, he actually is higher functioning than I am (I have Autistic Disorder without MR).

I think X-Files has a thing with Autism.

There's another episode that revolves around a young girl who has Autism; the rendition is pretty good. The girl looks "normal", and she even talks well, but when she talks, she speaks in a demanding tone. She only speaks to her mother; she doesn't acknowledge anyone else (which is common).

It's the one with the doll....

Sounds like "Chinga", the one written by Stephen King. He has an Autism thing too.

That's it. I didn't know King wrote such; cool. It was a pretty cool episode.

A lot of the episode was rewritten by Chris Carter after King didn't write Mulder into it at all for some reason. I thought it was good episode.

My favourite episode is Jose Chung's From Outer Space.

Ha, the episode "Bad Blood" is hilarious. Two funny lines:

Scully: "Mulder, please just keep reminding him you were drugged."
and
Skinner: "No, his... throat was bitten... it was sort of... gnawed... on."

It was a cool take on Vampirism.

Chris Carter also re-wrote the ending which I thought was amusing. CC evidently doesn't think SK has strong (to describe kindly) ending's either. I read at the time SK was in a funk about that too. Tough. It's CC's baby after all.

I still favor the Anasazi, The Blessing Way & Paper Clip III.

On top of my head:
Unusual suspects - hey, i love the lone gunmen! frohike, langley, and byers - squee.
Small potatoes - that was funny. and it has nancy cartwright aka bart simpson in it and scully and "mulder" kiss in it
Post-modern prometheus - the black and white episode

hey, aside from stephen king, william gibson also wrote for the x files. his episode was kill switch, an excellent ep, if i'm not mistaken

I was obsessed with the X Files for several years, I lived and breathed it :D

My favourite episodes are The Ghosts That Stole Christmas, Bad Blood and the one about the writer whose character was real...I can't remember the name of that one.

Wow I love that show.

Recently going through them again, the three I've already mentioned are my favourites:

"Icepick" one
"Bad Blood"
"Insect in the office" one (Hiding in the Light)
