I'm probably going to avoid this movie in theaters, but it may be worth seeing for this alone

Me too. I'm really not that much into movies perfectly replicating the original idea, visuals included... and God knows Dragon Ball is *way* too complicated to replicate, in that sense (what with Gokuh's hair and all)... but, jeez, those Piccolo pictures look as if Wong is purposefully trying to deviate from it.

Would've been so hard to achieve something at least a little closer to...

... that?

:?

Still, I'm going to see the movie. Maybe Marsters will compensate with acting what the director and make-up artists were obviously not bothering to try.

Maybe....Maybe...

I think its an extremely long shot that this movie will be any good, though. I just can't see Dragonball adapting to live action well at all.

Here is a fan made DBZ of saiyaman vs 17 and 18, it is not realy bad, I saw this and thought alright in some ways. Obviously hopefully the real one would be better then this, it looks more like a live action anime then what we would see in a movie though.

That's one heck of a video, Bradley. And to think that movie studios, with about a million times more budget, won't necessarily make something as good as that... :?

I think Lord Piccolo looks pretty good; I just wish he would've been somewhat greener. I still can't wait to see the movie!

Not super stoked, I like Dragonball just fine, and I think the flick will turn out good, but I'm more stoked that they're supposed to be doing some preview for the Tekken flick with it.

But the folks behind Tekken have been too damn mum on it. They finished shooting in APRIL.

I can't imagine how any special effects or CGI known to man could replicate the fight scenes in Dragonball and make them look 'realistic'.

Excited? No

Will this be hilariously bad? Probably.

I get the feeling this is going to end up being like the Mario Bros or Street Fighter movies.

I liked the original DB.
DBZ is strictly for teh lulz.
If they must make a bad "live action"-movie, I'd prefer if it was of DBZ. Because DBZ is for teh lulz.

Edit: Oh, Great Bob. :x How can they do that to Piccolo? Piccolo is my favourite. Well, the junior, actually, but still.
He's not even green.
What's with the silly space-armor-thing? Piccolo dresses in cloth. (And concealed heavy minerals, of course.)
Black? It should be blue(/purple/indigo?), and white.
This offends me.
Rage.

He's probably not even Bad Ass enough.

Objection!

they should make Piccolo green and put him in his regular outfit that he wears in DBZ.

I think it may be a very fun movie. Yamcha will be in it, so yay!

Usually, I'd be the first to nerd-rage at Piccolo's look in this movie, but after Michael Bay's Transformers, I just can't be bothered. I mean, they changed this:

to

And for what purpose?

I'm sure they can make Dragon Ball's story work for a movie. And Piccolo is the perfect antagonist. Things never heated up as much as when King Piccolo first entered the story to look for the Dragon Balls (and wreak havoc on the way).

....yeeeeeahh...I'm not going to watch this

Hell, I doubt if I'm going to see the Avatar: The Last Airbender movie that is supposed to come out in theaters next year, as big of an Avatard as I am

They'd better use an Asian cast to play Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom characters and an Indian or half-white/half-black caste to be the Water Tribe people....otherwise it won't look right.

I have looked around and supposidly the idea for Piccolo was to represent a plant, and aparently in bright lights plants become more dull in colour, so it could be just the lighting makeing him pale. Aparently also suposidly in the pics you can kind of see antenie. Another reason given is that he has been locked up without sunlight for so long that he has lost his green colour, and either gains it over time, or something about wanting to wish for youth.

Thought I might also add in a clip from the old live action Dragonball movie.
