I think it is the music that makes the clip so creepy.

There was one that scared me about two people in a pitch black room looking for either the light switch or a new bulb, which goes on for a while with muttered conversation between them ("Can you see it?" "Oh... yes... I think it's over this way," etc.) Finally the switch/bulb is found and the light switched on by one person, only to reveal that his supposed 'friend' is actually a monster. If I remember correctly, he then switches the light back off again rather than look at him.

I'm starting to feel uncomfortable just thinking about it even now. :(

Actually, that was one of my favorite cartoons from SS, and always gave me a chuckle.

I guess we all have different perceptions as to what's scary and what's not, heh.

After a while, I would leave the room when it started!

I don't know why I found that one so particularly scary...

Reminds of yet another cartoon skit (series of them actually) on Sesame Street called "Willie Wimple".

That's funny, it always creeped me out to such a degree that I'd have to leave the room and plug my ears before that final "Yeeech!" was spoken, it disturbed me THAT badly!

^Me too. I would also get up and run when the Yakety Yakety Yak came on. You know the one... if you don't, go Google it yourself, I'm not posting...

Good grief! What are we, masochists here? 8O There's no point traumatizing ourselves, I'd much rather post a clip that puts a grin on my face. So here, enjoy.

Funny, I can't think of a scary Sesame Street clip, but then, I don't think I watched it regularly like I did Captain Kangaroo. Also, my parents let my brothers pretty much decide what we watched, and that meant war movies, M*A*S*H, Kung Fu, etc. Now when we watched Watership Down, that was a traumatic experience. I only recently found out how much as I started looking into the film. That sucker's been haunting me for years! That one was my sister's fault, though; she always was a maudlin kid.
