I have to say Hamish Blake, he is one of my favirouts but I do like a bunch of other comedians especialy the Ausies. I watched the Monteral comedy festival a couple of years ago on the tv, and most of them were Americans swearing, and talking about sex and drugs, which I found too anoying to even listend to, the best on their were a couple of the Ausies that on who decided to do something not about sex and drugs. Another good aussie is Fiona O’Loughlin, who often does routines about looking after kids, and ho she says things like if the parent says they dont have a favirout child, then you aint it. Also Paul McDermott is quite good with some of the shows he does and cant forget the Umbilical Brothers, or Tripod who do some pretty good songs.

Oh Stand-Up comedy!

Favorites: Mitch Hedberg, Stephen Wright, Emo Philips

Almost Favorites: Jim Gaffigan, Jerry Seinfeld, Dave Chapelle,

Respect and like okay: George Carlin, Bill Hicks, Dimitri Martin,

I've taken a big leap and started to perform Stand-Up. I think I'm a mix of my favorite comedians, with a little bit of fat, creepy but lovable, self deprecating humor thrown in.

Strangely enough, I think stand-up is a good fit for those with AS. As long as you are okay with people laughing at you a little bit, if you are genuinely funny... people will respond positively.

To KaliMa: There seems to be a large amount of extreme, anything goes comedy nowadays. It's really unfortunate. I'm okay with some crude things, as long as the premise is clever. Shock value for the sake of Shock value... not funny.

You can't just take your thoughts... throw in even more F-Bombs than your normal conversational style... and call it a day. Being genuinely funny takes a bit more effort than that.

22 posts and only one mention of Bill Hicks? I'm truly saddened.

I like other comedians as well like Bill Bailey and Eddie Izzard but I really think Bill Hicks beats them all hands down. He managed to be a Comedian and Prophet at the same time, he is truly missed and sorely needed.

I've done it a half a dozen times or so and done well mostly... I bombed once, but only once in Portland OR. The other several times I went were in Austin TX.

I've got a few ideas that I haven't tried on stage yet... "I wonder if anyone grows broccoli for aesthetic reasons... they come over, 'oh, I see you grow some of your own food'... 'no, I just think it looks nice next to the azaleas'."

I'm inspired by his message... It's just a ride. PERFECT. I like how he ended his shows... Although after having watched him perform several times, I find his style drags a lot for my taste... It's too bad that it seems the anger ultimately ate him from the inside out.

I'm about the same on Hicks. I really don't find him that funny, and he's a bit too abrasive for me... but after watching I started to get his message and understand what he doing. I think I like him more than George Carlin, who I have similar feelings about.

Sometimes I think George Carlin was almost too polished in his speaking style, he made everything thought provoking... Did he make everything funny... I don't think so. But man could that guy talk... and I mean that in the best way possible...

Yeah I saw one video on the internet in which he basically just spent half an hour shouting at his audience. When he was good though he was very good

I'm only 44, but I like older comedians like Shelley Berman.

I used to like Lew Black before he got too foul mouthed.

Carlos Mencia! Deet, dee, dee!! ! I liked the Chappelle Show too when I had cable...especially the skit called "True Hollywood Stories with Charlie Murphy". Sometimes I think some of that may have even been true!! FUNNY like you wouldn't believe!! Really hilarious!! ! I think that Charlie Murphy is actually funnier than Eddie Murphy. He can keep a straight face no matter what happens...that's why!! ! He might be an Aspie. OMG!! ! and that character "Ashy Larry!"

Rickles is hillarious. You won't find many comics that will tell a Korean audience member that they "spent two years in the jungle looking for your father."

As for Chappelle, I think he had some good skits in the beginning of his show but it quickly wore thin. Charley Murphy wrote the Rick James skits based on the real stories so I don't think you can give Chappelle credit for those. The "Law & Order" skit was really funny - the drug dealer was treated as a pillar of the community while the white Enron-ish executive is found guilty by an all black "jury of his peers."
