If heinously god-awful movies like It and Children of the Corn are on that list, I really think that The Shawshank Redemption and Stand By Me need to be on that list. The Shawshank Redemption and Stand By Me are fantastic movies. As for the options on the list, I can't decide between Carrie and The Shining (both are good).

I'd definately go see a series of movies based on the Dark Tower series. (btw, still haven't read book 7 so don't spoil it for me, I think I'm going to go pick that up today).

It's worth reading mostly to FINISH THE DAMNED SERIES! I know, at that point in my reading I'd vested so much time it it, it was personal. Go here: http://www.wrongplanet.net/asperger.htm ... pic&t=4340 once you've finished it and put your two cents in? I was sorely disappointed and because of the last two or three books I think they'd have to completely change the plot to make it something people would be willing to see in the theaters in its entirety.

Stand By Me, for sure. I've heard really good things about Shawshank Redemption, but haven't seen it. Salem's Lot is another of my favorites. I don't like the Jack Nicholson "Shining" - there was a 4-part TV miniseries that I like much better. I loved Creep Show. And there were two movies made from his short story "Trucks" - Maximum Overdrive and Trucks - I have and enjoy both. I liked Silver Bullet. The Langoliers was directed by one of my high school classmates, but I didn't really like it very much.

There sure are a lot of movies/TV movies based on his writings!

I had quite a tough time deciding between these two as well. In the end I choice The Shining because I felt like it was just a better movie than Carrie. I realise all the publicity Carrie gets because this is one of King's original classic. I think people sometimes can slightly over rate and praise Carrie just a little more therefore. But what it really comes down is my personal preferences and not a qualified movie with a great resume/background. By the way did you decided/voted yet? just curious...

The Shining is creepier, I'll give it that. It lost a little in my mind because it messed up the book more than Carrie messed up the book to my memory.

I'm still not sure. I think The Shining is more entertaining, but I think Carrie is a better movie. :?

I haven't seen the original Shining, but I saw the 5-7 hour TV series version in one sitting. Can't decide between that, and It.

A better movie in terms of it being a classical and all? Or do you really feel it's a better movie?
Because if you answer the first question yes than I think it would be wise to vote for The Shining in my opinion.
