The Flesh And Blood Show

This is a 1972 release from director Pete Walker. His films are often elevated to 'cult' status, but are on the whole a bit overrated, I feel. Nonetheless, this is a fair bit better than his Die Screaming Marianne, which was reviewed here a few weeks ago. it's a murder mystery type film, with horror elements, which has been compared with Italian 'Giallo' movies and American slashers, but it doesn't fully fit into either category.

It struggles to attain much momentum for the first hour or so, but comes to life in the final 25 minutes, where a flashback scene that explains everything is the highlight. Typically for a Walker film, it features a number of attractive young actresses like Luan Peters, Jane Cardew, Judy Matheson and Jenny Hanley, who all at some point take their clothes off for one reason or another.

In some versions the flashback section is in 3D, as in the YouTube upload below, which makes it difficult or impossible to watch - a pity, as it's really the best bit of the film...

EDIT: Showing as 'age-restricted' at my end. Probably means you have to have a Google or YouTube account to access it. :|

The Look Of Love

This 2013 film looks at the career of Paul Raymond, a British 'entrepreneur' who rose to fame in the 1960s and 1970s by building a business empire based on striptease clubs, soft porn magazines, and finally a huge property portfolio in London's Soho district. It's actually pretty well done: Raymond is played by Steve Coogan, who brings quite a few characteristics of his famous 'Alan Partridge' character to the role, and the portrayals of a number of other important figures are interesting as well, namely Raymond's wife Jean, his mistress (the notorious Fiona Richmond), and his tragic daughter Debbie.

Warlock (1959). High Noon type western with Richard Widmark and Henry Fonda.

Not to be confused with Warlock (1989) a cheesy horror flick with Julian Sands.

The Rental.

Two couples - brothers, one with his wife, the other with his girlfriend - rent a house on a scenic stretch of coastline. They come to discover that the house has secret cameras filming them - - after one brother has a sexual tryst with the other's significant other. They suspect the racist handyman of setting up the cameras to film them... but they're wrong.
Great psychological horror film.
