I'm sorry you grew up without a mother. I'm glad this adversity has induced you to transcend the hurt, and to affect people in a positive way through your hurt. Especially that you don't want people to feel the hurt you've felt.

Sometimes, I wish I didn't have a mother, too----at those times, I don't know how lucky I am.

I'm not feeling sorry for myself; I was just stating facts. My autism, my apathy, and my complacency have denied me any position of leadership anywhere. I'm just a clerk who is lucky enough to be getting a pension in two years.

I'm a little upset at myself; hence the "heavy tone." But, most of the time, I feel okay with myself.

You're a polymath; I'm not a polymath.

But you're definitely a cool person---frankly, if I wasn't married, I'd have a yearning for your type of person.

I do understand where you’re coming from, having read your words on this in the past. You’re simply stating fact. Your life could have been, would have been different, had you wound up in a leadership position. It may not have necessarily have been ... better. But, I can’t help but feel, you would have been a strong and good leader at the helm of any company. This is very rare. Most Directors/Managers are anything but. You have been spared from considerable stress though. Enjoy what you do have, and maybe remind yourself that unlike others, you didn’t sell your soul, living and working as you have. Hope your retirement in two years time brings you untold happiness.

That's very sweet, Juliette.....and well thought-out.

You have a knack for this sort of thing. You make people feel like they're at least decent.

It's a rare quality.

There's very much more to you than meets the eye----and what meets the eye is quite substantial enough.

Thor: Ragnarok, for the first time. Bloody brilliant, and a massive step up from the two previous Thor films. Genuinely clever script and direction, and plenty of the OTT audacity I like to see in a superhero story. I relate a bit too hard to the scene where Hulk beats himself up, though.

Well it was matinee day at the local movie theater and I went to see a movie called "News of the World". It was a most excellent movie.

Wolf Of Hollow Creek.

Horror comedy of a small town sheriff, suffering from alcoholism, who is tasked to solve gruesome murders in their rural community, which everyone but him believes is the work of a werewolf. Pretty decent movie.
