the 2017 remake of "going in style." actually more entertaining than the 1975 version.

Funny. I love when Bob stays for dinner and a sleepover.

The Thing.

I figured, with being snowed in, it's the right time to rewatch John Carpenter's masterpiece set in a frozen hellscape.

I also enjoy the 2011 prequel and the 1959 version. Do you?

I liked the 1959 movie for what it was, though I think it's dated, and I liked how the Carpenter version was closer to the original source material, Who Goes There? I'm afraid I was disappointed in the 2011 sequel, as it depended too much on CG.

The Trial Of The Chicago 7.

I grew up hearing of most of the main characters of the 1969 trial.

I was in the odd position of seeing the 2011 sequel prequel before I saw John Carpenter's 1982 film. I thought the 2011 film was OK and had some things I would've changed--but the 2011 film was solid enough that it enticed me into finally seeing the 1982 film.

WOW!

Seeing the 1982 film shortly after seeing the 2011 film was when I became so very impressed by the 2011 film. The two films were made independently and almost thirty years apart but the transition from one film to the other was seamless. van Heijningen's team did a beautiful job of reverse-engineering the 1982 film so they could match it.

I'll agree the 2011 film is just reasonably good as a film. But I am awed by how well they did at making a prequel for someone else's film. And I discovered some of the things I didn't like about the 2011 film were needed to match the 1982 film.

The animated Hobbit and Lord of the Rings films from the 70s.

They're not good at all. But still interesting to see.

"The News of the World" staring Tom Hanks and a new kid actress Helena Zengal
New Netflix original

very good, quiet moving and very detailed period drama.
Tom Hanks usual quality actor, and stunningly beautiful new bright star child actress Helena Zengal
who i imagine we are going to see a lot of in the future

Imagine she is going to be absolutely stunning when she is older
hope Hollywood doesn't ruin her
