We watched Love and Monsters last night.
Fun film. Beautiful look! Pleasant to watch.
Note: This is about the 2020 Love and Monsters, not the 2021 Russian one--which might also be fun but I haven't seen it.

But, in the mean time, I hope folk will not mind too much if I offer my opinion: Annihilation, is a wonderful, eerie, science fiction horror. I really like it a lot. Much of the movie makes you feel uneasy...delightfully so! It is also a visual treat. And, interestingly, it casually pulverizes the Bechdel Test without seeming to care--but I'm not sure it would pass the Reverse Bechdel Test!
I think anyone (17 or older) curious about seeing a visual, eerie, Science-Fiction horror should consider seeing it!

I agree it was a really enjoyable movie. And yes visually and hauntingly beautiful! Especially the scene with the people shaped trees. Probably my favorite scene.

It kind of reminded me of a dark version of Hayao Miyazaki. The strong female leads. And the way strong will power and a complete sense of self staved off the transformation longer. In Miyazaki stories the characters are able to overcome curses etc when they are confident in who they are and their own abilities and refuse to give in.
