Leonard, Howard (cruel to Dr. Cooper) and Penny (doors the show really need this misogynistic stereotype?) from The Big Bang Theory.

Boots St. Clair from The Facts of Life. She is unbearable.

I HATE the GEICO gecko!! !! ! HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE! I have to turn off the commercial every time it's on or mute it and close my eyes to block it out!

Why the F@$& does a F@$&ing GECKO have to have an English accent?! ! I will tell you why!! !! !! !! Because it presumes that Americans are STUPID and believe in the stereotype that anyone touting a British accent must be more sophisticated, educated, intelligent than the average American, and therefore should be listened to! I REFUSE to give in and indulge in this groupthink mentality! Yeah I get the "cute" juxtoposition of the lizard brain versus a more sophisticated brain but ENOUGH ALREADY! That could have been accomplished with a perfectly anunciated AMERICAN accent, OK? The idea to put on a British accent is extraneous and sophomoric. The mentality behind the decision to package it so is totally offensive and patronizing to Americans. So, GEICO is essentially mocking its own constituency. Despicable!

I genuinely hate: the terrible mother from The Walking Dead,

Uhm... who do you mean?

I usually don’t dislike the comic relief characters. I sometimes find them more interesting than the main cast. Anya from Buffy the vampire slayer is a good example. Fascinating character, dreadful scriptwriters. She could have been such a cool character.
Similarly I disliked the way they made Screech in the original version of Saved by the bell too lame.

Any role played by Renee Zellweger or Rebecca DeMornay.

South Park:
Butters
Twitch
Both annoying and hopeless.

I’ll fly away:
Paul Slocum, Nathan’s friend

Carrie by Stephen King:
Carrie’s mother

Harry Potter:
Draco Malfoy
Snape

Enid Blyton’s Famous Five:
Anne. What a crybaby. She annoyed the crap out of me when I read those books.

Star Trek:
All Ferengi and Kazons, and most Klingons.

Lost:
Michael (for telling his son they could buy a new dog)

Knight Rider:
Michael Arthur Long. Disgusting guy.

James Bond.

Pokémon:
Max

Walking dead:
Andrea
Dale (after he “made” her stop her suicide attempt)

Friends:
Seeing a rerun today of the episode where they decide to go on a break, reminded me of how annoying I think Ross is at times. Gad what a jerk he was to Rachel the first time they were involved. I have no idea why she went back to him.

Eastenders:
Don’t know where to start. Haven’t watched it in years, but reading this thread reminded me of it.
Ricky. Tiffany. All the Mitchells. Phil’s wife wasn’t much either. Sara. Sanjay. Guppy. Ian.

Smallville:
Chloe. What a dramaqueen.

Peter Griffin is Awesome.
South Park can NEVER go too far.

Yes! This! They equally offend everyone! Love those shows!

Exactly. South Park rules!

Leonard Hofstader from Big Bang Theory

I hate this character with a passion. He is like the nerdy character stereotype wrapped up in the mullet of a douchebag, he is obnoxious, sex crazed as*hole (in particular the actor who is NOT charming in the least) and is basically the live action version of Archer's Cyril Figgins. Has all the annoying, whiney, unsympathetic, sexist, know it all, douchebag among douchebags I've ever seen. Frankly, they should just have Howard be the main character, he's the one who got character development. All Leonard has done is be in a relationship with Penny and put up with Sheldon. I hate his character so much. Then again Penny and Sheldon all pretty one note characters too (frankly the only one with potential outside this show is Sheldon's actor out of the main three).

Asuka Langley Soryu from NGE. I hate her as a character. Although I do have to say that she is one of the few characters that emotes a strong emotional response in me. It's a response of disgusts and disdain.

Although not from TV, Film, or Video, I hate the Possessed in Peter F. Hamilton's The Nights Dawn Trilogy. Conversely one of my fav characters of all time is Laton from the same trilogy for what he does against the possessed.

Blackarachnia (Beast Wars)

Devious, conniving, power hungry and a thoroughly thoroughly evil piece of work. She constantly betrayed Megatron more times than I care to imagine, and also tried way too hard to be a Maximal after falling in love with Silverbolt. There's just something about her personsality i can't stand.

At one time, GEICO's gecko did have an American accent! Talk to the ad agency that created the character and ask them why they went from Midwestern American English to The Queen's Engligh.

Sheldon from TBBT. Even though I share some of the quirks(?) that he does, he's egotistical and puts others down just because they aren't as smart as him.

I personally don't like arrogant brash characters who don't seem to exhibit one iota of humility, gratitude or depth and/or don't receive their comeuppance for their behaviour.

Example? Hal Jordan from the now-cancelled Green Lantern series who rather irritatingly got everything to go his way; he broke rules, he disregarded other people's safety and still got to walk away the hero. I gave up watching the series after episode 9 when deux ex machina gave Hal the ability to overcome the Yellow Rock out of nowhere and take down the possessed Kilowog, despite Kilowog being older, bigger and more experienced than Hal.

A lesser more modern-day example would be Hank, the DEA brother-in-law of Walter White in Breaking Bad. I've unfortunately had to work with people like him, so in a moment of schaudenfraude, I was glad he was suffering PST from the El Paso Tortuga incident. Thank you writers for rounding him off after a season's worth of pure egotism. I may end up feeling sorry for him but yeah... bleck.

Yeah, the Mrs does paint a rather grim example of why I'm not interested in women. A friend of mine had to explain to me why she (over)reacted the way she did and promise me she does get better later in the series (which I've not seen yet but hey).

That's really interesting. I didn't know that. I actually momentarily stopped hating the gecko, convincing myself that perhaps it is an Australian accent given that some geckos come from down under. But, in light of this new information, I'm back to hating that f***&ng gecko again. LOL
