The Monster

aka I Don't Want To Be Born

aka The Devil Within Her (USA title)

A 1975 release, and you can probably tell from that and the various titles that it's cashing in on the phenomenon of The Exorcist. Actually it has a fair bit in common with The Omen, though that came out a year later, and there are also one or two parallels with 1973's Don't Look Now. Anyway, it's not very good, though it's attracted a bit of a cult following by now. Most interesting things for me were the mid-1970s London street scenes, fashions, cars, etc (60 pence for a taxi ride in the West End, lol!). Stars Joan Collins, Ralph Bates, Donald Pleasence and Caroline Munro.

^ Haven't watched that for about 15 years. Doesn't grandma dissolve in the acid water or something? Otherwise I just remember Linda Hamilton being in it....

The Glass Menagerie.

Tennessee Williams' bittersweet play brought to the screen by director Paul Newman. I had almost forgotten Williams' humor appearing in an otherwise sad story.

While I've seen better animation, I thought it was still a good adaption.

Glengarry Glen Ross.

Movie that takes real estate - a subject about as exciting as watching paint dry - and makes it provoking. The F word wasn't used as many times as I misremembered, though.
