Movie that takes real estate - a subject about as exciting as watching paint dry - and makes it provoking. The F word wasn't used as many times as I misremembered, though.

It is a good film.

Indeed it is.

Belfast

I'd read that it had some humor to it, and some are actually calling it a "feel-good film!" (I didn't believe the latter for one second.) As it turns out, the humor is kind of sparse, and realistically morbid and dry.

It was a good film, but it was also stressful for me.

The Death Of Stalin (2017)

I don't often watch films made much later than the 1970s, and first impressions of this were unfavourable, as it was obviously being played for laughs. But as it progressed, it was clear that the production team had done their homework on the subject matter, and it was genuinely entertaining and thought-provoking.

Stalin speaks in a cockney accent here, lol, but maybe that reflects the fact that his Georgian accent would have sounded strange or even funny to many Russians. Marshal Zhukov, the heroic head of the Soviet army in the Second World War, speaks in a broad Yorkshire accent - haven't worked that one out yet.

Don't know much about the period the film deals with, but I'm certainly going to research people like Krushchev, Molotov, Malenkov, Beria and Bulganin as a result of watching it.

I found the movie greatly enjoyable - especially since Putin had outlawed it showing in Russia. For the sake of time, historical incidents were compressed.

It was okay. The scenery was good. Filmed in the same Canadian town as First Blood, both posing as Oregon.
