Last night I watched:

Dracula [1992]
<=>"Love Never Dies"
Love NeverThe one directed by Francis Ford Coppola and with a
Love Never Dcast including Anthony Hopkins, Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, Tom Waits, and Keanu Reeves.

Predictably, given the director and cast members, a very well done film.

It does not look "real" but rather a bit dreamy and surreal dramatic presentation...but it's hard to complain about that since it is about a vampire.

Bad Moon.

Werewolf horror movie, where a family dog knows something's up with the uncle who's showed up out of the blue. Not absolutely terrible, but director/writer Eric Red has done much better in the past.

The Day the Earth Stood Still.
Boring.

Didn't quite take off. Waste of time.

2008 or 1951?

If 2008: :-? Yeah, possibly. I really liked the opening...but after they reached the saucer it became shallow.

If 1951: 8-O Sacrilege! Blaspheme! One of the greatest Science Fiction movies of all time...certainly from the 1950's.
If 1951: *=*=*(Can you tell that I am a fan of 1951?)

Don't Click.

A college student has to confront his friend's malevolent interest in torture porn when both find themselves in the site's torture dungeon after the friend clicks on a new aspect of the site.

House on Greenapple Road, American TV movie from 1970

A murder mystery in which the main interest for some viewers will be the participation of Janet Leigh, a decade on from her starring role in 'Psycho'. Her character is apparently murdered just before the start of the film, but there's a dramatic twist towards the end (or not so dramatic if you've watched enough of these sorts of films before or have been paying careful attention to the clues). It's on YouTube, yay!

Nope.

Sci-fi//horror film. Brother and sister African American movie horse wranglers and ranchers find themselves involved with an alien incursion. Not what I expected. Highly recommended.

The 2008 one.
Yeah, it did start off well.

I've not yet watched the 1951 version. :oops:

Yeah, it did start off well.

I've not yet watched the 1951 version. :oops:
In the 2008 movie I really loved the opening. The dialog as they went down the highway was incredible. Very powerful. Then the movie drifted into obvious CGI and obvious attempts to be socially relevant. Unfortunately they did not retain much of the 1951 movie nor the original short story. (Admittedly, the 1951 movie didn't follow the short story very well, either. I think the movie was much better!)

The 1951 movie is the classic 1950's Science Fiction film. It has some weaknesses but is still the classic from the 1950s. But it is a 1950's Science Fiction film. If, as a rule, you don't like 1950's Science Fiction films then you won't like it, either. Obviously the special effects are not up to current standards. The story has a few traces of corny. And it was arguably socially relevant for 1951—when rocketry and atom bombs were modern marvels and the world situation was tense enough that nations were working toward using rocketry plus atom bombs in warfare.

After Infestation I had an appetite for another minor science-fiction horror film, and
my bride got roped in, so we watched:

The Deadly Spawn [1983]
<=>"They're here and they're hungry."

It's a low-budget, independent, horror/science fiction film.

It looks like a not-so-bad low-budget, independent, horror/science fiction film.

I think it's OK. Quite watchable if you go in expecting a low-budget, independent, horror/science fiction film.
