Bravest fist 2/6 , zzzzzzzz , yawn......BO-RING. Kung fu with Michael Chan.....theres no excitement in this movie , no memorable fight scenes.

Aces go places II , 4/6.....nonsense plot but funny , Baldys kid is a bit of a rascal

"A James Bond-type burglar King Kong (Sam Hui) and his friend Albert "Baldy" Au (Karl Maka), a bald police detective join forces to try to track down a rare set of stolen precious diamonds before it ends up in the hands of a notorious European mobster named "Black Gloves" (Filthy Harry in the dubbed version and during the English-speaking parts of the original film). The two unlikely duo are supervised by Baldy's wife, Supt. Nancy Ho (Sylvia Chang), a masculine, fiery-tempered policewoman as they are chased by many mafia members throughout the film in crazy chase sequences involving a number of car and motorbike stunts"

There are several 007 references in Aces go places III which im watching now.....

Gledelig jul ("Merry xmas") 4/6 , this is a bit naff.....Jespersen is funny but this movie isnt anything special. Otto is more funny in the "Børning" car comedies imo.....

Love the Coopers 4/6 , another naff xmas movie....the family fights , a gay cop whos in the closet , Olivia Wilde pretends she has a new bf. Olivia is nice eye candy though

Edit: Oh wait, animated? Mine wasn’t. I must be thinking of a different adaptation but it’s still a great short story. Mine is done in black and white, and I’m not sure who was in it.



We watched it in school when I was about 9, as an introduction to Poe. I’ve watched it a few times in recent years on YouTube.

Nice pick.

Saw 1, 2, and 3. The first movie was my favourite, and is now my new favourite horror movie.

Is it at least a okay Christmas film? It puts you in the holiday spirit.

It makes other cheap zombie films look good. (There are a few in our collection that are worse. A very few. And they are absolutely terrible.)

"Santa" is an actor hired to play the role at a birthday party...for a girl who is way too old to not realize it is just an actor.

One of the three elves seems to believe he really is an elf. It is framed in a way that suggest possible mental illness.

Overall the acting in the film is terrible. The sets reflect a low budget. The writing is almost good enough to be mediocre.

Don't think of it as holiday film. Think of it as a poor zombie film that should probably be watched sometime around Christmas...but only if you like poor zombie films.

Very creepy horror film where a hospital psychiatrist witnesses how a seemingly delusional and paranoid patient describes being stalked by a supernatural entity using the identities of people she knows, all bearing a frightening grin, then commits suicide in front of the doctor. From there, the doctor begins experiencing the same phenomenon of being stalked, which causes those around her to believe she is losing her mind. With the help of her ex, a police detective, she discovers a long line of people killing themselves in front of someone else, who repeats the process over and over, all leading up to her.

This is Christmas.

I really enjoyed this. Wish I saved it for Xmas day!

Last night we watched: In A Different Key [2020]

It is a documentary on Autism. IMDb describes it like this: "A mother tracks down the first person ever diagnosed with autism to a rural Mississippi town to learn whether his life story holds promise for her own autistic son."

Autism is a Spectrum disorder and that is reflected in this documentary. Every Autistic is different but I think any Autistic is likely to see at least bits of themself reflected in this documentary. However, I don't think the documentary spent much time looking at the high and low ends of severity...but rather the great variety between them.

-1- In it we do meet the first person diagnosed with [Kanner] Autism. He seems like a really nice guy!

-2- Alex Plank appears briefly.

It very much fits the movie.

The Phantom Planet [1961]

This movie currently has an IMDb user rating of 3.7. That sounds fair. It is not a complete mess...just very far from great.

This movie displays many of the characteristics of 1950's science fiction films that cause many people to avoid them. Except, this film was released in 1961.

If you like to watch so-so 1950's science fiction films then you might like this comparable film.
Otherwise, avoid it!

This film is not set in the distant future...but it should've been.
It claims to show events set in 1980! Incredible optimism.
