An intense film that didn't deserve to flop.

"All Through The Night" from 1942. Humphrey Bogart tackles Nazi Fifth Columnists in New York City that both a comedy, a thriller, and "The Nazis are coming" warning(It was filmed before Pearl Harbor), and a comedy. Somehow they pulled it off enough to keep my interest.

Fun. I remember seeing this in the 1990s.

Amsterdam. (2022) Mystery/Comedy. Brilliant mix of quirky & historical. Great cast with John David Washington, Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, Taylor Swift, Robert De Niro, Rami Malik & Anya Taylor-Joy.

I enjoyed it too. I saw it in theatres a couple months ago.

Crimes of the Future. A Cronenberg film.

I quit half way because I found a lot of the scenes difficult to watch. 8O

Last night we watched:

Don't Worry Darling [2022]
<=>"welcome to victory."

Neither of us knew what to say about the movie when it was over, though we both thought it was OK.

If you decide to watch it I recommend going in unprepared. Don't research it in advance.

^I’d been looking forward to seeing “Don’t Worry Darling, and found it stylish. The disturbing subject matter of man’s control over his wife(I was raised to be a Stepford Wife myself) & the thought that marriage works best when women stay at home, looking after their husbands, the children, the home is the way that “works best” highlights the issue of control. Only, this movie does it with a bit more of a disturbing twist.

I’ve just bought “My Policeman” to read & will then watch the movie. It’s another Harry Styles movie.

Tonight, I watched “The Menu” (2022 Horror/Thriller) Not like anything I’ve ever seen before! Prepare for some shocks! Has you on edge, & Anya Taylor-Joy was brilliant in this, as was Ralph Fiennes. Atmospheric, claustrophobic, with a killer ending!
