I watched Barbie last weekend. Absolutely loved it. I might go and see it again while it's still at the Cinema.

Going to see Oppenheimer tomorrow. Not looking forward to it because it's 3 hours long and I just don't get the hype with Christopher Nolan movies (I'm sorry). However, I am willing to try.

Still shorter than Once Upon a Time in America

In the 60s, a college student made an 8-hour art film of himself sleeping.

Stan Lee.

Disney+ documentary on the late Stan Lee, how he created comic book heroes with clay feet and villains with humanity, wasn't afraid not to talk down to his readers, and how he even took on the social issues of the day. Also examined was how egos clashed, causing the loss of friends and coworkers such as Steve Ditko, who co-created Spiderman with Lee, and Jack Kirby.
Considering how Lee was losing his hair early on, I'm certain he wore a hairpiece.

I've seen this anthology film before. It's a great set of dramedy skits all were
written & directed by Jim Jarmusch filmed beginning in 1986 and wrapped in 2003.

Last night we watched:

The 5th Wave [2016]
<=>"Wave 1: Darkness. Wave 2: Destruction. Wave 3: Infection. Wave 4: Invasion."

Another well-made science fiction movie that concentrates on the characters, not the science fiction.

I prefer a focus on the science fiction.

My bride liked it, I thought it was OK.

Pride (2014)

Realising that they share common foes in Margaret Thatcher, the police and the conservative press, London-based gay and lesbian activists lend their support to striking miners in 1984 Wales.

F*ck Thatcher

Ghost Story (1981)

Watched on a DVD from Netflix.

Originally watched it in 1981 with the woman I would eventually marry. It is not a slasher super gory film. Maybe a little grossness. I've always thought it is a nice movie. I still do.

Four elderly men, haunted by the ghost of a beautiful woman from their college days. They are haunted and the sons of one of the men are haunted. One by one they die, one with full frontal nudity. The film is rated R.

Wikipedia: Ghost Story (1981 film)

An all star cast
John Houseman, Douglas Fairbanks Jr, Fred Astaire, Melvin Douglas, Patricia Neal
All actors in the sunset years of their lives. It was Melvin Douglas' last film.

The woman is portrayed by Alice Krige, her sixth film. She has popped in several things (old and new) I've seen lately.

Ken Olin, plays the John Houseman character as a young man. Ken Olin would later go on to direct projects as well as star in Thirtysomething.

It is a nice drama and a spooky tale.
Most memorable line from when I originally saw it: "Dance with me toad."

Highly underrated horror movie.

Mad God.

Nightmarish, often nonsensical stop-motion-action horror movie, with human actors appearing now and then. Highly recommended!

The Wild Rebels (1967)

Technically, I watched Mystery Science Theater 3000 riffing the film. I sensed that the movie had a low budget.
The Wild Rebel... meh. It's okay. It tries. MST3K was great.
