In the past six months:

The Golden Compass - a real surprise, a real gem!
Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium - a bit better than expected
Bee Movie - didn't like it much
The Last Mimsy - largely unknown but beautiful
Bridge to Terabithia - sad enough to even touch my son

and, just to add to my pitiful list.....

DVDs

Shadowlands - introduced it to my dh....he nearly cried
Dr Who Series 3 Box Set - yes, we watched ALL the episodes!
Thank God You're Here Serix 3 Box Set - always hilarious
The Borg Collection - great picks by fans

Live Shows
Men in Tutus - so funny
Priscilla, Queen of the Desert - my son wants to go again! Bloody fantastic!

I rented the Steven Spielberg version of "War of the Worlds" for New Year's Day.

Nothing to bring in 2008 but a little destruction!

Just saw the Golden Compass. It was very well made, obviously not as good as the book but it draws you in very well.

Scary but good, I enjoyed it.

There Will Be Blood - 10/10

Ben-Hur - 8/10 (that chariot scene is definitely one of the top 10 best scenes in cinematic history)

The Guns of Navarone - 9/10

Charlie Wilson's War - 6/10

Eastern Promises - 8/10

Ben Hur should have finished halfway through.
------------------------------------------

I watched recently....

Syriana -- second time on DVD 'cos I didn't understand it the first.

Enchanted -- at the cinema. My mum recommended it to me and said it was brilliant. I reckoned it was ok (pretty good) and had its moments but won't watch again I don't think.

I rented Phillip Noyce's most recent movie Catch a Fire.
It was very good, but the only problem was
Tim Robbins' really horrible British accent.

Will watch Hot Fuzz on DVD tonight.
