And, let me clarify. From what I've read and seen I think it is fair to say that the Mihmverse films are parodies of 1950's Science Fiction movies but I don't believe you need to be too familiar with those films to enjoy the Mihmverse. If you have had some exposure to the 1950's Science Fiction films then the HUMOR in the Mihmverse will be what I think you will enjoy.
I enjoy 1950's Science Fiction movies; my bride can sometimes tolerate one or two of them but generally does not like them. But we are both very entertained by the Mihmverse films we've seen so far.
It would be easy to mock the production quality (and acting and special effects, etc.) in the Mihmverse films we've seen so far but that is part of their charm. This film might actually be a bit more polished than the other Mihmverse films we've already seen. I don't know if that is because they are getting more experience making these films or more money to make the films but this film still fits in with the other Mihmverse films we've seen...the moon zombies appearance, especially, looks like it may have been created by children.
...and, like I said above, we both enjoyed this film!

Wow. Recently we've been watching our way through the Mihmverse but last night she wasn't available to watch a movie with me. I remembered that last year I had started watching some Roger Corman films but had only gotten as far as the first two on my list (①&②) so last night I decided to watch another Roger Corman film.
Wow! It was like Creature from the Haunted Seabelonged in the Mihmverse...that is to say, it is good light fun. With odd dialog. And a monster that looked like it was made by children.

You do an excellent job tagging your past posts, Attack of the Giant Leeches, and then The Wasp Woman, with links ① and a ②, separated by an "&" and enclosed between parentheses, like a little ASCII face (thank you pareidolia). I've seen The Creature from the Haunted Sea. It is one of 50 films included on my low cost DVD box set 50 Horror Classics. I also have it as an MP4 from RiffTrax. Two things stand out about the film in my flawed and fickle memory. 1. The captain of the boat looks like he was supposed to look like Humphrey Bogart. I suspect this pointed out by RiffTrax. I wondered if this intended to be a sequel to The African Queen? 2. As shown in the trailer, there is a snippet that was included in the Malcolm In The Middle opening credits. Ray Harryhausen, and Roger Corman are well represented. The burning ski jumper has always always interested me, until I started typing this and veered off on a tangent.
Just below your Attack of the Giant Leeches post, was a post by me, commenting on Catnado, followed by a warning from you about having any expectations of it being good. This is followed by a post from me outlining Catnado. This is what I said about the last story.
Quote:
Cosmic Catnado - This reminded me of something I would have seen on a late night cable channel. I think the show was Night Flight. It also reminds me of art videos I saw when in college. Weird. David Lynch was so popular back in the 1980s
To be clear, because I wasn't, David Lynch did not make those art videos I watched. He just influenced some of them. R.I.P. David Lynch. I only found out about his passing this morning while watching opening monologues from late night television shows. Stephen Colbert took a moment to thank David Lynch for "showing us dreams on screen" just prior to his Meanwhile segment. (taking a hard U-turn back on topic... wait, as usual, I'm lost... Okay, I'm back.) I also made a comment about the doppler effect that left me wondering "What was I thinking?" However, I remembered a previous film the two of you watched that involved cats that could talk. It was a Disney film. "Ah. So talking cats in a Catnado might be full of the voices whizzing by with the doppler effect. ha ha. so funny. ha ha. yawn." You did an excellent job summing up your viewing experience of The Creature from the Haunted Sea. It is everything you said it was.
Now to piggyback on the thread topic. A Sprinkle of Deceit: A Hannah Swensen Mystery (2024) Recorded on FRNDLY. I've seen it before, but Hallmark mysteries are often enjoyable to watch. A commercial was also recorded for a new Hannah Swensen Mystery, Reality Bites. That's February 6, which will be here before I know and forget it. Fortunately, FRNDLY is set up to record it.
By the way, after taking the u-turn and declaring I (aka, my flow of thought) was lost, it took about fifteen minutes to get back on track. I just did other things until I remembered ("oh yeah!") Now to close my eyes, wince, and click the submit button sending this travesty of to everyone. This is why I place so many of my comments between SPOIL brackets. My grammar, misspellings, and wrong words ("and" instead of "an") are hidden away.
I don't know, of course, but I doubt Creature from the Haunted Sea [1961] was intended to be a sequel to The African Queen [1951]. A parody, though...maybe...alluding to it...possibly...

My younger brother worked in a movie theater (I was jeaolous) and this was one of the films that played while he was there. I remember telling me about this Ronny Desmond song.

Tokyo Gore Police.
Hilarious Japanese gore filled satire of a hottie working for a privatized police force in the near future fights mutant cyborgs, when she's turned into one herself.
