"Pulp Fiction" - I generally don't care for Quentin Tarantino's films, but I think Pulp Fiction is quite good. Although watching it last night, I realized it's just a sit-com with blood.

Margin Call. Odd film. Big name cast but a low budget style film, mostly standing around talking, and I thought they could have done more with the soundtrack.

Weird movie, way more introspective and less 'social' than I'd anticipated.

That's actually a very good description. It's an introspective movie about the inner world of one single character and less about his environment (and the people within it) or even circumstances.

Nobody Knows

A Japanese movie loosely based on a real story. Keeping in mind that the story is a softened version of the real story.... it's an incredibly depressing movie.

It's definitely a movie to watch stoned for those who can still do that kind of thing. Even watching it sober it felt like the emotionality was what I'd feel after quite a few hits. No Country was another one that was really arced, slow, and intense.

Unleashed with Jet Li, Morgan Freeman and Bob Hoskins. I'm not a fan of martial arts movies, but when I saw that Luc (Leon The Professional) Besson wrote the script, I decided to give this one a try. And I'm glad I did. The fight scenes are well done, but more importantly they're part of a well-written and enjoyable story. Bob Hoskins is gold in this movie, playing the nastiest (and funniest) gangster villain I've seen in a long time.

Some part of me wants to take this picture, put Neil Patrick Harris playing a How I Met Your Mother or Harrold and Kumar type roll in for the guy on the left, and see just how many kinds of wrong this movie could go.
