"Dexter" episodes 7 - 11 from the fifth season.

I am hoping Julia Stiles's character, Lumen Pierce, is killed off soon. I have found her story arc rather boring and cliche-ridden, and I don't think much of Stiles as an actress either.

Once I have finished watching every season of "Dexter", I will be moving onto the highly-rated anime series, "Death Note".

Season 5 was my least favorite season of Dexter. Julia Stiles' character being a big reason why, as well as the overall plot just feeling really awkward and forced.

I feel the standard has been dropping with each season.

*SPOILER*

Although everyone seemingly adores the fourth season because of its primary antagonist, The Trinity Killer (portrayed by the excellent John Lithgow), I personally preferred the first two seasons. After so much hype, I was expecting The Trinity Killer to be much more sinister than he was depicted, and I was equally disappointed to see the show centering more around his parenting skills than his blood splatter work.

....I was disappointed when Doakes was killed off during the second season finale.

Seasons 1 and 2 are when the show was at it's absolute peak. I enjoyed S4 almost as much as those, but I do agree that it fails to capture the greatness of the first two. Even though I liked all of the seasons, I can't deny that it did suffer from lower quality of writing as it went on. I found myself skipping over almost all of the Batista/LaGuerta scenes because they pretty much never amounted to anything. I don't think it's a coincidence that the quality took a dive around the time Clyde Phillips left the show.

I don't even like Chuck, but that was a super dick move by Jimmy. And now it's inadvertently led to Chuck getting his nut cracked.

And Mike feeling the indirect repercussions of practicing half measures.
