I don't expect much from romantic comedies, but Think Like A Man was terrific.

I saw it yesterday and laughed my ass off. I also would not be surprised if the response book "Act Like A Gentleman, Think Like A Woman" gets made into a movie with adaptations of more self-help books following.

Just watched Sucker Punch. It was a bit confusing but pretty good.

Random scroll through netflix, and decided to watch "Let it Ride". Think its only the 2nd movie I've watched about gambling. Its simple but has a good amount of laughs thrown in there, I would recommend it.

-Red Dragon (2002)
WAY better than Hannibal, but not as good as Silence. While I haven't seen the original version of this film (1988's Manhunter), I liked the story and the performances in this version just fine. Edward Norton was just there, but he's a good actor so it was a fine role. Ralph Fienes always makes for a great villain. And what hasn't been said about Hopkins' Lecter. That might be why I'm hesitant to watch Manhunter, I just can't picture anyone else playing that character.

Alice in Wonderland (2010) - My favorite movie since the year it came out. Alice and the Mad Hatter will always have a special place in my heart. I'm really glad I decided to take time out of my evening to sit down and watch it again. :D

The Day The World Ended.
This 1950's Roger Corman produced sci/fi schlock must be avoided at all costs - - unless you want to get a great laugh from lousy dialogue, tedious story, poor writing and direction in general, and awful special effects.
Like my wife and I did.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) - My second favorite movie; it would easily be my #1 if Alice in Wonderland (2010) didn't already have that honor. Johnny Depp's take on Willy Wonka never fails to make me smile. I just love his androgynous appearance and something about his personality makes him very appealing to me. Probably the fact that he's very cheerful throughout the whole movie - as someone who typically has a negative attitude, I find positive characters to be uplifting.

Interestingly (though semi off-topic), Willy Wonka appears in my dreams at night on a frequent basis. I have only had a handful of dreams about my other favorite Tim Burton movie characters, but the dreams I've had about Willy Wonka number in the dozens. It boggles the mind.

Just watched Thor. Pretty fun. Reminded me a little bit of Masters of the Universe, which I love due partly to it's crappiness.

Thor wasn't badly made like Masters of the Universe though, just had the similar fantasy elements and 'over the top'-ness.

After initially thinking I wouldn't like Captain America and Thor, but thinking "what the heck I'll watch 'em anyway" and finding out they're actually alright, I may consider seeing that new Avengers film pretty soon - and even if it does turn out to be a bit naff, it's still got Iron Man in it! 8) Can't be all bad then.
