Project Nim. It was an analysis of an experiment from 1970s involving a baby chimpanzee, which was taught to use sign language. The movie itself was a great study of human behavior and thoughtlessness.

The other day I saw Madagascar 3 in 2D, Jessica Chastain stole the show by getting
into her inner bad lady as Capt. DuBois and the leads were great as always.

Yesterday, I saw Moonrise Kingdom.
If this is playing at your nearest theater, GO see this, it is definitely one of the best movies of this year so far.
Wes Anderson can do no wrong, Bruce Willis & Ed Norton stole scene after scene, and the ending leaves a lot of room for a sequel, which leads to a question: Will the kids stay together as they grow older?

Saw Chronicle yesterday. I thought it was a pretty well done film. It certainly puts a fresh twist on both the "superhero" and the "home video footage" genres and has a fairly good story to go with it. (it isn't Shakespeare, but few superhero films are)

Oh my god, I love Ralph Bakshi's old movies 8O . Love this and his much maligned interpretation of Lord of the Rings.

I just got from watching Prometheus a couple of hours ago. It had some good in it, I'll buy the bluray, as a fan of the Alien franchise. Its not complete garbage that deserves to burn in Sheol like the VS movies, but it was kinda disappointing and was quite disjointed.

About lords of the rings, i think i saw less then 30seconds of that video. It killed it for me.

A Monster in Paris - Very cute movie. Having been made in France, it had a different "feel" to it than American animated movies that I can't quite explain (not that that's a bad thing of course). It also had a happier ending than I was expecting, which was nice. Based on all the fanart on Deviantart (which is how I know this movie even exists in the first place), you'd think that Francoeur and Lucille would have romantic feelings for each other, but in the movie their relationship is purely platonic. Kinda reminds me of how in the 2010 version of Alice in Wonderland, Alice and the Mad Hatter were only intended as friends (Johnny Depp says that Alice and the Hatter "complete each other like a brother and sister"), yet they are very frequently paired off in fanart and fanfiction.

War Horse and The Secret Worold (or life or something) of Arietti. However her name is spelled. War Horse didn't make me cry, and The Borrowers remake had some plot issues.

"The Gold Rush" By Charlie Chaplin - This was the 1942 re-working. Apparently Chaplin was the George Lucas of his day and he ended up making a horrible mess of what was once a very good film. He replaced the title cards with his own narration which only describes what is being shown. I feel it's much better in it's original silent form and Chaplin would have been better off trusting his original film and leaving the thing alone.

I just got back from seeing That's My Boy.

Funny as hell; almost matching the humor level in The Dictator.

Although teacher/student relationships are absolutely nothing to laugh at,
the way it was depicted in this just made me laugh, good thing I was the only
person in the theater where it was being shown.
