I saw Source Code a few days ago but it sucked because lovefilm sucks, the playback was all jerky throughout and it destroyed the experience. I had to stop and start and download crap, and try other browsers, it just killed it for me.

It seemed like a really good movie too, i could see though the stops and starts, just i didn't get the fun experience that it should have been and i guess it ruined it for me. For good sadly, i remember enough that it won't be fun a second time :(.

Ah well. There are other movies out there so it's ok i guess, won't waste more sadness on it than it deserves :))). Just feels like a waste of a nice experience.

I am still recovering from taking my nephew to see Spiderman a few weeks back.

It was needlessly loud and made me jump far too much and I had issues with it being in 3D.

Despicable Me

Very cute movie. Some parts were surprisingly touching. Gru is an awesome character, and the minions were really funny.

We just rented The Machinist. Christian Bale is ungodly emaciated and tormented as an insomniac who can no longer distinguish between reality and delusion brought about by guilt. Much recommended. 8)

Most recent was Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. As my avatar indicates, I loved it.

Before that, hard to tell.

My wife and I just caught The Dark Night Rises this afternoon. Overall, other than being very long, it was a decent movie. And most of all - - Bane is the BEST. Batman. Movie Villain. Ever!

"Metropolitan" by Whit Stillman

I saw this in the early 90's and remembered liking it, but I couldn't remember much more than that. I watched it again and I think my reaction is exactly the same. It's a pleasant, entertaining movie and even though the characters are wealthy and privileged, the director keeps them likeable for the most part. It's a fun film if you like a bit of mild semi-intellectual banter in your romantic comedies. Some of the acting is a little bit wooden, but only in the lesser characters and not so much that is hurts the film. It's kind of "Woody Allen Lite" and with a younger cast.
