Off topic, but...

@Brainfre3ze: So I have your avatar now. Is logic coming to an end!?

On topic:
Anyway, someone in here heard of Minerva Mink?

Yes, someone actually posted that there weren't enough enough episodes of Minerva Mink.
No logic is not coming to an end, but it's sort of strange that we both have the same avatar. 8O

What are your favorite Animaniacs shorts, and why?

Key wrote:
w - Warners
p - Pinky and the Brain
g - GoodFeathers
s - Slappy Squirrel
b - Buttons and Mindy
c - Chicken Boo
m - Minerva Mink (even though there are, like, TWO episodes!?)
r - Rita and Runt
k - Katie Kaboom
h - Hip Hippos
? - Miscellaneous (one-shots, song shorts, Shakespeare interpretations, 4+ character crossovers, etc.)

Here's two of mine.
  • Yes, Always (p) - Sounds funny. After all, Brain IS inspired in part by Orson Welles.
  • Hercule Yakko (?) - Simply because of the man himself. Yakko makes his best delivery yet as a Poirot send-up.

(W) " Plane Pals " because of all the zany antics the Warners do to their " special friend "
( P ) " Opportunity Knox " their two lab mice trying to take over the world, need I say more?
( ? ) " A Midsummer Night's Dream " it's fun to listen, and Dot's interpretations are accurate and funny.
those are some of my favorits, not all.

  • Home on DeNile (r) - Just too funny. And I might even want to give the song a little listen!
  • Opportunity Knox (p) - One wacky P&B short. Also MISS-TUH PURR-KYNS~ and that awesome "cute" take from Brain.
  • DeZanitized (w) - HAHAHA! Hilarious pilot short.
  • I'm Cute (?) - Goes to show you what Dot is all about.

I understood that they decided Minerva was a little too randy... the cartoons of her, that is... Although I like the one with the werewolf... that's some real nice animation, that is.

I like every Shakespeare translation bit... "Let's cook a snake!"
Hearts of Darkness - "Freundlaven!" - one of my absolute favorites, along with
Yes! Always and
Woodstock Slappy

And the one with Daniel Boone. "Daniel Boone was a great big jerk!"

Yes, that's precisely why there were only a few Minerva Mink episodes. There were a lot of scenes that were a little too risque, even for an Animaniacs episode!

I found the excessive wild takes far more troubling than Minerva's sex appeal, mind you. Although the werewolf... never mind. It's like saying you find Wilma Flintstone attractive (where did I hear that?).

I'm the exact opposite, I found Minerva's sex appeal more troubling than the excessive wild takes.

And thus the cosmos achieves balance!

Actually, the problem I found was that half the plot was her sex appeal and the other half was ridiculous wild takes. All told, the cartoon is interesting from the perspective that anyone dared to make it at all, but isn't that great as a cartoon. Sort of like the Hip Hippos... oh, how I loathe them!

I don't know about interesting, but it definitely was very bold on the writers and producers part. Plus plot doesn't really need to make sense in a cartoon. Ex. Hip Hippos, made no sense what so ever, but it was interesting.

I think a cartoon should at least have a skeletal plotline going on... a premise I guess is enough... But the annoying wildtakes brought it to a screeching halt without adding anything (like humor)...

I just realized I'm dissecting the various elements of a Minerva Mink cartoon. I'm gonna go lay down for a while. Forget I brought it up... Does anyone have the number of the Please Please PLEASE Get a Life Foundation?

But I can say, without going too far, that I can't stand the Hip Hippos.
