Original Japanese dubs. Always. I think the Japanese language is part of what makes the whole atmosphere of Studio Ghibli so nice. And I think English would kind of ruin part of the magic, it would just sound wrong. At least to me. But I am against dubs in all cases. I have watched Ponyo and Totoro with Norwegian dubs, but that was with my niece and she does not know how to read yet.

Agree wholeheartidly. I always go for the original, because japanese is such a beautiful language, but I'm not against dubbing

Totoro was, is and will be my favourite Ghibli movie ever.

When I'm sad, I like to watch a Ghibli movie while I eat camembert. It's a kind of tradition that makes me happy.

I'm assuming you're not watching Grave of the Fireflies, though =P

I have to say that I can't watch Grave of the Fireflies anymore. I really want to, but I just get too upset afterwards
It's a wonderful movie, without a doubt Takahata's best. Am watching Laputa (Castle in the sky for you americans) right now

Yea, I rarely watch it too, for the same reason.

Tenkû no shiro Rapyuta is great, though. I love it and the soundtrack.

Dear fellow Ghibli-lovers. Let's just take a few moments to consider the complete and utter awsomeness of this youtube-video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTMoSaDdlLs . I'm at home sick listening to the Totoro segment and I swear my soft toy Totoros are bouncing up and down to the music :o . Or maybe I should check my themperature. Edit: Forgot to mention, this is the "25 years of Hayao Miyazaki" celebration concert in Budokan in 2008. The orchester is of course led by Miyazaki's own composer, Joe Hisaishi.

No way, "Grave of the Fireflies", like "Barefoot Gen" are on my list of "watched one time, and it is enough"

How many of you have already seen From up on poppy hill? I don't want to spoil anything, but I think it's the best ghibli movie since Spirited away.

Am watching Om du lyssnar noga (Whisper of the heart) right now and can't believe how much Shizuku reminds me of myself as a teen. I was always dreaming, reading or writing. But I was way more of a loner than her.

Princess Mononoke was the movie that told me that animation wasn't just for kids. I was very young when I saw it (the year I came out), and my parents thought it would be a good movie for me.

They were wrong on so many levels, but at the same time so right. Got my foot in the door for more adult oriented animation, and kept me watching cartoons through to today... although somehow I went from watching more mature programmes to My Little Pony.

Funny how that works.

I love Ghibli, eespecially Miyazaki and his movies.

I especially LOVE Princess Mononoke and Spirited away. In SA, I love the train that rides on the top of the ocean (wow! who made it, he must have been on pot or mushrooms, but itis amazing), and in Mononoke, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the magical forest of gods. The part in which San drags the dead Asitaka into the river and swims with his body to the deserted island, the home of Shishigama The forest God, I replay all the time.

1-Princess Mononoke
2-Laputa
