Rango.

A really ace film that had great reviews but everybody seemed to ignore. I have no idea why. I guess a lot of folks just didn't "get" it.

John Carter. The second half of the movie tryes to include too many things and jumps from one sequence to another one without breath. It really needed one more hour, at least, to pace the story, since it's not an action-movie, but an adventure one. Anyway, the first half of the movie is amazing. Love it.

And in general any asian movie with a long haired furious ghost. No matter how bad the movie really is

Rango was rather brilliant, wasn't it? I think the main problem was the very unique advertising/marketing campaign (which overshot its intended audience) so it wasn't exactly clear what the actual film was supposed to be about, never mind whether it was suitable for families. That said, ha - it won plenty of animation awards, thereby kicking Disney's keister -- ah, 2011 was a wonderfully refreshing year for the Annies...

Star Wars prequels for me here. I admit they could've done without Jar Jar Binks, and there were certainly some problems here and there, mostly the nonsense of midichlorians and other stuff with Episode I. But overall I really like them, and Episode III is actually possibly my favorite Star Wars movie overall.

I also really liked M. Night Shyamalan's Devil. Not sure if people hated it, but I know it didn't make a lot of money at the theatres. Personally I think it's his best movie aside from maybe The Sixth Sense.

Also Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Seeing it in theatres was a really cool treat, since there haven't really been many theatrical full CGI movies (if any at all) that look this good. The acting and script wasn't necessarily top notch, but I thought it wasn't too bad, and really enjoyed the movie a lot overall.

I'm limiting myself to movies that have a Rotten Tomatoes rating of less than 40%.

I've already listed these:

Dracula 2000 (2000) - 15%
Punisher: War Zone (2008) - 27%
The Thing (2011) - 35%

And I listed these in the "Most Underrated Film Sequels of All-Time" topic:

Predator 2 (1990) - 25%
The Crow: City of Angels (1996) - 12%
Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 (2000) - 13%
Hannibal (2001) - 39%
Blade: Trinity (2004) - 26%
Rambo (2008) - 37%

And now I'm adding these:

A View to a Kill (1985) - 36%
Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985) - 29%
Rambo III (1988) - 36%
Last Action Hero (1993) - 39%
Striking Distance (1993) - 15%
Dracula: Dead and Loving It (1995) - 9%
Mortal Kombat (1995) - 34%
Screamers (1995) - 30%
Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995) - 34%
Virtuosity (1995) - 33%
Chain Reaction (1996) - 16%
Thinner (1996) - 16%
Desperate Measures (1998) - 17%
Dirty Work (1998) - 17%
Mercury Rising (1998) - 17%
U.S. Marshals (1998) - 27%
End of Days (1999) - 11%
Get Carter (2000) - 12%
Romeo Must Die (2000) - 33%
Impostor (2001) - 22%
Replicant (2001) - 27%
Super Troopers (2001) - 35%
Cradle 2 the Grave (2003) - 26%
Paycheck (2003) - 27%
Alien vs. Predator (2004) - 21%
Mindhunters (2004) - 25%
The Punisher (2004) - 29%
Van Helsing (2004) - 22%
Death Sentence (2007) - 20%
Dragon Wars (2007) - 27%
The Invasion (2007) - 20%
War (2007) - 14%
The Cry of the Owl (2009) - 11%
Ninja Assassin (2009) - 26%
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009) - 18%
Terminator Salvation (2009) - 33%
Repo Men (2010) - 22%
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011) - 17%
The Raven (2012) - 23%
Taken 2 (2012) - 21%
Total Recall (2012) - 30%
A Good Day to Die Hard (2013) - 14%

Lest anyone thinks my taste in film is completely rancid, I'll note that I'm not saying I love all of these movies, though I do love some of them. Many of them I think are just barely on the right side of mediocre. If I enjoyed a movie enough to recommend it as a rental, it got listed.

(Going by what you guys say) I had no idea ”3 ninja kids”, ”The mummy”, ”Star Wars episode 2”, “Terminator 3”, “The thing” (2011), “Alice in wonderland”, “The island”, “Armageddon”” Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow“, “Rango”, “Karate kid 5” (yeah they can call it Karate kid 2010 as much as they want, tome it’ll always be Karate kid 5), “Mercury rising”, “The invasion” and “TMNT 3” were movies people don’t like. I like them.

Other movies I like that apparently has bad reviews:
Boo
Beneath
The open door
Scream 1-4
Final destination 1-5
I know what you did last summer 1-3
Star wars episode 1
The Pokémon movies

In terms of people I have seen that thought this classic was boring.

2001 A Space Odyssey

Very slow to a lot of people yet very enjoyable if you can pay attention to detail. Which I did and it is my favorite movie of all time.

In terms of ratings

Starship Troopers.

It was hilariously cheesy and funny.
